    Abstract: Techniques for improving memory utilization for communication between stages of a graphics processing pipeline are disclosed. The techniques include analyzing output instructions of a first shader program to determine whether any such output instructions output some data that is not used by a second shader program. The compiler performs data packing if gaps exist between used output data to reduce memory footprint. The compiler generates optimized output instructions in the first shader program and optimized input instructions in the second shader program to output the used data from the first shader program and input that data in the second shader program in a packed format based on information about usage of output data and data packing. If needed, the compiler inserts instructions to perform runtime checking to identify unused output data of the first shader program based on information not known at compile-time.

    Abstract: A system for aerobic fermentation includes a vessel, an aeration system including a gas sparger fluidly coupled to the vessel to introduce a compressed gas to an internal volume of the vessel, and a recirculation loop fluidly coupled to an outlet of the vessel. The recirculation loop includes an eductor fluidly coupled to an oxygen-containing gas source, a static mixer downstream of the eductor, a heat exchanger downstream of the eductor, and a distributor downstream of the heat exchanger. The distributor is fluidly coupled to the vessel. The aeration system provides mixing and oxygen mass transfer to the fermentation composition in the vessel. The fermentation composition passes through the eductor, static mixer, heat exchanger, and distributor of the recirculation loop, and back into the vessel. Oxygen is transferred from an oxygen containing gas to the fermentation composition and heat is removed from the fermentation composition in the recirculation loop.

    Abstract: The tool (10) for textiles according to the invention consists of chromium steel, into which carbon has been embedded in locally varying amounts during a carbonizing process. Thermal treatment achieves a formation of martensite with the maximum achievable hardness, in particular in those zones in which larger carbon fractions have been introduced. A tool for textiles with zones of differing hardnesses can thus be produced without having to subject the individual zones with differing hardnesses to different process conditions during the production process. The hardness is controlled on the basis of the degree of deformation of the tool for textiles.
