  • Publication number: 20250248689
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for measuring an internal pressure (ICP1, ICP2) of a compartment, in particular a muscle compartment, in which an ultrasonic measuring unit coupled to a pressure measuring device is placed on a tissue under which the compartment to be measured is located and a pressure is increased on the tissue by exerting a force. In order to be able to perform a fast and inexpensive, non-invasive measurement of the pressure within a compartment, in particular a muscle lodge (so-called lodge syndrome), it is proposed that the internal pressure (ICP1, ICP2) is determined from a change ?p in the pressure p acting on the compartment and a change ?E in an extension E(p) of the compartment that occurs during the action of the pressure p.

  • Publication number: 20250216081
Abstract: A combustor for a gas turbine system includes a combustor body, a head end fuel nozzle assembly, and an axial fuel stage (AFS) injector. An air flow passage defined at least partially by the combustor body is configured to deliver a first portion of an air supply to the head end fuel nozzle assembly, and the AFS injector is configured to receive a second portion of the air supply. A valve is operatively positioned between the air supply and the AFS injector. With the AFS injector on (i.e., fueled), the valve is open, and a third, additional portion of the air supply flows to the AFS injector. With the AFS injector off (i.e., unfueled), the valve is closed to block the third portion flowing to the AFS injector and to deliver it to the head end fuel nozzle assembly, which reduces the firing temperature for highly reactive fuels.

  • Patent number: 12281794
Abstract: A combustor for a gas turbine system includes a combustion liner including a primary combustion zone and a secondary combustion zone. The combustor body is additively manufactured and made of a first material. The combustor also includes axial fuel stage (AFS) immersed injectors extending radially into the combustion liner in the secondary combustion zone. Each AFS immersed injector extends through an opening in the combustion liner and is additively manufactured with a second material different than the first material. A coupler fixes each AFS immersed injector in a respective opening in the combustion liner. The additive manufacturing results in as much as a 70% reduction in parts within a given combustor and allows use of high temperature and high oxidation tolerant, hot gas path (HGP) materials for the AFS immersed injectors.

  • Patent number: 12280519
Abstract: A log splitter includes a chassis having a support table configured to support a log to be split, a splitter screw having a generally conical shape and mounted to a rotatable screw shaft that is supported by the chassis, and a drive assembly configured to rotate the shaft to impart rotational movement to the splitter screw about a screw axis. The drive assembly includes a motor coupled to the screw shaft via a constant velocity transmission (CVT) (also known as continuously variable transmission). The CVT can provide both high speed and high torque during the splitting process as required to split the log. A fall restriction bar helps restrict a person from accidentally falling onto the splitter screw. An engine-kill bar is pivotally mounted to the chassis. A log-rotation stop mechanism is configured to restrict rotation of a log that gets stuck on the splitter screw.

  • Patent number: 12258027
Abstract: An evaluation computing system may implement techniques to validate a vehicle controller, such as based on an update thereto. The evaluation computing system may access data associated with an operation of the vehicle in an environment as controlled by the controller. The evaluation computing system may modify a portion of the data representative of a fault associated with the controller. The evaluation computing system may run a simulation utilizing modified log data to determine whether the controller detects and/or mitigates the fault within a threshold time. Based on a determination that the controller does not detect and/or mitigate the fault within the threshold time, the evaluation computing system may determine an error associated with the controller. Based on a determination that the controller detects and/or mitigates the fault within the threshold time, the evaluation computing system may validate the controller.
