  • Publication number: 20110178947
Abstract: A restaurant greeter method includes storing a plurality of greeting messages in memory of a greeter, associating at least one greeting message with a specific time of day, playing the at least one greeting message from the memory of the greeter upon detection of an individual at the specific time of day, and playing a different message if an individual is detected and the time is not at the specific time of day. Messages and other data can be downloaded from a remote server or loaded at the greeter. The greeter can be interrupted by a base station. Each of the messages can be temporally assigned. In an example, a bypass circuit selectively connects the greeter intermediate to the menu post and the base station.

  • Publication number: 20110125470
Abstract: Generating an optimized supplier allocation plan includes identifying parts and suppliers associated with an allocation problem, where each supplier can supply at least one part. One or more objective functions are selected. Each objective function has part variables, and each part variable represents a quantity of a part to be procured from a supplier. At least one constraint constraining at least one part variable is received. The one or more objective functions are optimized with respect to the at least one constraint to yield a value for each part variable. A quantity of each part to be procured from at least one supplier is determined according to the values to generate the optimized supplier allocation plan.

  • Patent number: 7895839
Abstract: A combined circulation condenser for a steam cycle apparatus is disclosed. The steam cycle apparatus includes a steam generator with a port for receiving a fluid. The steam generator presents heat to the fluid to generate steam that is directed out another port, which presents the steam to a turbine to generate electrical power. The turbine has an outlet that directs an exhaust steam into a condenser. A fluid flow system is inside the condenser, which directs cooling water along a pathway through the condenser so that the cooling water cools the exhaust steam, forming condensate. A condensate pump collects and pumps the condensate along another pathway through the condenser so that the condensate can additionally cool the exhaust steam. Simultaneously, the exhaust steam warms the condensate. This pathway directs the condensate to a feed pump, which pumps the condensate back to the steam generator through the generator's input port.

  • Patent number: 7891477
Abstract: A clutch assembly for an agricultural work vehicle having a piston slidably disposed within a chamber having a first portion and a second portion. The piston is positionable between a first position and a second position in response to a fluid pressure within the first portion of the chamber to actuate a clutch mechanism. A sealing ring is associated with the piston to substantially prevent flow of fluid between the first portion and the second portion when the piston is in the first position. A bleed assembly is configured to permit flow of fluid between the first portion and the second portion when the piston is in the first position. The bleed assembly allows sufficient flow to substantially prevent unintentional engagement of the clutch mechanism.

  • Patent number: 7795517
Abstract: The method provides luthiers of fretted instrument with a novel approach for installing frets with increased accuracy. The method is an improvement in calculation of fret placement over the “Rule of 18” because it relies on the length of the vibrating string. This method is more pronounced at the end of the fret board closest to the bridge due to the angle formed by the string when depressed with respect to the axis of the fret board. With respect to the twelve-step octave, the scale length is multiplied by the constant of the twelfth root of 0.5 to calculate the length of the string from fret contact to saddle contact for the next tonal step.

  • Publication number: 20100162078
Abstract: A telecommunication system and related methods. Implementations may include implementations of a method of encoding data for transmission, including forming a frame by encoding a message block using a short-block low density parity check (LDPC) code and an encoder to form a short encoded block, modulating the short encoded block using a modulation format and a modulator to form a modulated short encoded block, including the modulated short encoded block in a data payload of the frame, and transmitting the frame into a telecommunication channel with a transmitter. The frame may be one of a plurality of frames and each modulated short encoded block in each of the plurality of frames may have a constant number of symbols. The frame may include a modulation/code pair (ModCod) including information relating to the modulation format and the short-block LDPC code used for encoding and modulation.

  • Publication number: 20100091478
Abstract: This invention relates to a stable, multiple-use chemiluminescent marking system capable of articulating, communicating, displaying and conveying chemiluminescent messages in the form of written text, numerics, alpha-numerics, figures, drawings, emergency messages, distress calls or directional traffic indicators. The invention functions by co-dispensing two vessels, each of which are pressurized by means of a liquid miscible propellant. The chemical ingredients from each vessel are combined by means of a mixing valve attached to the actuators of each vessel, which simultaneously eject the contents of both vessels and produce a ballistic chemiluminescent aerosol spray. In another aspect of this invention, each vessel has an internal pressure of 1 atmosphere and an aerosol spray is produced by a hand or finger-actuated co-dispensing pump spray.
