  • Patent number: 8221199
Abstract: A pocket abrasive sharpener having a housing formed with a pair of upper slots and a lower open compartment. A pair of abrasive ceramic stones is mounted in one of the slots to form a V-shaped sharpening slot. Each ceramic stone has at least one flat face to abut an adjacent reversed stone to form the V-shaped sharpening slot. The stone has an abrasive cutting edge formed with a radius for sharpening serrated edges and having abrasive surfaces on both sides of the radius. A pair of abrasive blades having V-shaped carbide cutting edges is mounted in the other of the slots to also form a V-shaped sharpening slot. A tapered abrasive rod is pivotally mounted on the housing and is moveable from the compartment to an extended position for sharpening knives and removing pins in certain military and civilian rifles.

  • Patent number: 8206199
Abstract: An electric abrasive sharpener for sharpening edges having pairs of interlocking abrasive wheels formed with opposite abrasive helical threads. Each end of the threads respectively has lead-in section and lead-out section having chamfer edge portion to eliminate kickback. The abrasive wheels of the sharpener is driven by a single phase AC motor connected to a motor drive that steps down the rotational speed of the output shaft of the motor to rotate the abrasive wheels with increased torque.

  • Publication number: 20110244766
Abstract: An electric sharpener having two pairs of interlocking abrasives for sharpening the edge of blades to different sharpening angles. An adjustment assembly simultaneously moves the wheels of each pair either toward or away from each other to adjust the sharpening angle produced by pair of abrasive wheels in a sharpening operation. The adjustment assembly is provided with a rotatable shaft having an external handle which engages a lower platen. The lower end of the shaft is threaded to move the platen in vertical direction to move translation bars affixed to the platen. The translation bars extend through elongated slots in respective pairs of adjustment arms coupled to each pair of abrasive wheels to rotate and vary the spacing between the abrasive wheels and adjust sharpening angles.

  • Patent number: 7909662
Abstract: A battery clamp for use with (a) top post terminal connections and (b) batteries with side post terminal connections includes a first and a second jaw handle. The first and second jaw handles each have a handle portion and a clamping portion. The first and second jaw handles are pivotally coupled to each other and are biased with the clamping portions in a closed position. The battery clamp further includes a side post adapter. The side post adapter is coupled to the handle portion of one of the jaw handles. The side post adapter includes a load pad and a volt rod. The load pad has an aperture, through which a portion of the volt rod protrudes.

  • Publication number: 20110017853
Abstract: A device and method for manufacture thereof having a one or more cantilevered cutting teeth integrally formed in raised configuration on a flat base fro cutting food items moved along said base. The free end portion is formed by upper and lower etched out portions of the upper end of said cutting teeth to form a cutting edge. The upper surface of the upper cut-out portion of the teeth is situation at a position out contact with food items being cut. A substantially portion of the teeth is coated with a low friction material, except for the cutting edge In a second embodiment one or more domed cutting elements are cut out of base sheet and may include a leading V-shaped cutting edge.

  • Publication number: 20100252247
Abstract: Heat transfer devices and methods of making such devices are disclosed. One such device is a fin having a primary texture and a secondary texture, wherein each texture has an average amplitude. The amplitude is an elevation change from a peak of the texture to an adjacent valley. The average amplitude of the secondary texture is between 1% and 90% of the average amplitude of the primary texture. Such a fin may have holes, some of which may be used to accommodate tubes passing through the fin.

  • Publication number: 20100162869
Abstract: A mandoline for cutting and/or slicing food items having an infeed deck and outfeed deck pivotally mounted on a housing adjacent each other in a sloped longitudinal orientation. Adjacent end portions of the infeed deck and outfeed deck are vertically spaced. The end portion of said outfeed deck includes a fixed blade mounted above the end portion of said infeed deck. A pair of knob assemblies are rotatably mounted on opposite sides of the housing and each include a pair of open cam slots and respectively engage a pin respectively formed on opposite sides of said infeed deck and said outfeed deck. Rotation of said cam assemblies causes said infeed deck and outfeed deck to move simultaneously either toward or away from each other to vary the space between the fixed blade and said infeed deck.
