  • Patent number: 9597957
Abstract: Front and rear independent suspension mechanisms accommodating an increased range of motion to better absorb shock originating at the wheels of a riding mower to insulate the operator and reduce stress on the mower chassis and other mechanical components. The front suspension can include a front axle with pivot pockets allowing 360 degree rotation of pivots engaged within the pockets, thereby providing a greater range of absorption of shock entering the front axle at varying angles. The rear suspension can include a vertically pivoting transmission platform, providing for controlled vertical motion in the transmission while the transmission is powered by an engine by way of a belt assembly.

  • Publication number: 20170069885
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to an energy storage device having improved thermal performance. More specifically, the energy storage device includes a housing with side walls that define an internal volume. The side walls include bottom and front side walls, with the front side wall having an air inlet and outlet configured to circulate cooling air therethrough. The energy storage device also includes a plurality of cells arranged in a matrix within the internal volume atop the bottom side wall. Further, the cells define a top surface. Further, the energy storage device includes an exhaust manifold adjacent to the front side wall between at least a portion of the cells and the air inlet. Thus, the exhaust manifold is configured to direct airflow from the top surface towards the bottom side wall and then to the air outlet so as to provide an airflow barrier between cooling air entering the air inlet and the cells.

  • Patent number: 9580157
Abstract: A system that maintains a comfortable hand and/or feet temperature during the course of a water sports activity. Exhaled breath is fed to the inside of the sportsman's gloves and/or boots down a tube which runs along the inside of the wetsuit to take full advantage of the insulating properties of that wetsuit. Rubber moulding units at the rear neck wrists and/or ankles facilitate the tubing's entry and exit from the wetsuit without disturbing the watertight properties of that wetsuit. The rubber mouldings can either be built into the wetsuit itself or separate inserts to go between the sportsman's skin and the wetsuit seals at the neck wrists and ankles.

  • Publication number: 20170003080
Abstract: A heat exchanger (2) comprising a duct (4) through which a first fluid (e.g. a coolant such as ram air) may flow, and one or more vanes (18) disposed within the duct (4) and configured to disrupt the flow of the first fluid through the duct (4). Each vane (18) comprises one or more flow channels (24) through which a second fluid (e.g. a fluid to be cooled, such as engine coolant) may flow so as to transfer heat between the first fluid flowing through the duct (4) and the second fluid flowing through the one or more flow channels (24). The flow channels (24) within the vanes (18) are separated from the duct (4) by a channel wall such that fluid cannot flow between the duct (4) and the flow channels (24).

  • Publication number: 20160360387
Abstract: A message distribution center (MDC) and Intelligent Delivery Agent are implemented in a wireless Internet gateway interposed between content providers and a wireless carrier to subjectively examine and direct messages via SMTP based on desired rules (e.g., non-peak hours, paying subscribers only, etc.) using standard SMTP Gateway and other well known protocols. The MDC includes an individual queue for each subscriber, and the provider is informed through conventional SMTP protocol messages that the short message has been accepted. If the carrier has specifically disallowed service for a particular MIN (e.g., in the case of churning), then the content provider is informed through an SMTP interchange that the recipient is invalid. An MDC provides a single mechanism for interacting with subscribers of multiple carriers, regardless of each carrier's underlying infrastructure.

  • Patent number: 9473497
Abstract: An exclusion engine for electronic communications in controlled-environment facilities. In some embodiments, a method may include method may include receiving, at one or more computer systems, a request for an electronic communication between a resident and a non-resident of a controlled-environment facility and determining, via the one or more computer systems, whether an exclusion list adopted by the controlled-environment facility allows the non-resident to communicate with the resident, where the exclusion list is of a type selected from the group consisting of: a permissive list, and a restrictive list. For example, a permissive list may identify one or more non-residents that are allowed to communicate with the resident, and a restrictive list may identify one or more non-residents that are not allowed to communicate with the resident.

  • Publication number: 20160277907
Abstract: The present invention provides multi-carrier support in a wireless Internet gateway (WIG) that allows the WIG to send messages to any number of ‘peer’ gateways on the Internet in a conveniently reconfigurable manner. The disclosed embodiments include a ‘Message Distribution Center’ (MDC), through which short messages can be routed to the gateways of other wireless carriers based on carrier formats stored in an abstracted carrier format table. The conventional technique of separate classes written for each carrier is replaced by entries in a look-up table format, to provide a more easily adaptable wireless gateway. Thus, occasional updates of the carrier format table need only be updated, rather than the wireless Internet gateway program, reducing down time for updates, reducing the complexity of updates, and improving the reliability of a wireless Internet gateway in the face of changes for one or more carriers in a wireless network.
