    Abstract: A paging method is disclosed. In an embodiment a method for paging monitoring implemented by a user equipment (UE) includes hashing an identity of the UE to determine a paging frame in which a page is to be sent to the UE and to determine a position of an indicator in a bitmap to be sent to the UE, wherein a value of the indicator indicates whether a page message associated with a paging group to which the UE belongs is transmitted in a current paging cycle, selecting a first downlink beamformed beam from a plurality of beams within the determined paging frame, receiving the bitmap from the first downlink beam and determining that the value of the indicator indicates that the page message is transmitted in the current paging cycle and, based thereon, receiving and decoding the page message to determine whether the UE is being paged.

The UE is allowed to initiate full-duplex transmission, and it is unnecessary for the eNB to initiate full-duplex transmission. That is, the UE does not need to send related signaling to the eNB, thereby alleviating load of an entire LTE communications system, avoiding overload during data transmission, and reducing a transmission delay.
