  • Publication number: 20230372671
Abstract: An apparatus includes a catheter, an introducer, and an actuator. A distal end portion of the introducer is configured to couple to an indwelling peripheral intravenous line. The actuator is movably coupled to the introducer and is configured to move the catheter between a first position, in which the catheter is disposed within the introducer, and a second position, in which a distal end portion of the catheter is distal to the introducer. A first portion of the actuator is disposed outside of the introducer and in contact with an outer surface of the introducer such that (1) a longitudinal axis defined by a second portion of the actuator is nonparallel to a longitudinal axis defined by the introducer and (2) the second portion of the actuator exerts a force on a proximal end portion of the catheter operable to increase an internal stress within a portion of the catheter.

  • Publication number: 20230330393
Abstract: An apparatus includes a catheter, an introducer, and an actuator. A distal end portion of the introducer is configured to be coupled to a peripheral intravenous line. The introducer defines an inner volume having a first portion that defines an axis parallel to and offset from an axis defined by a second portion. A first portion of the actuator is movably disposed in the first portion of the inner volume. A second portion of the actuator is movably disposed in the second portion of the inner volume and coupled to the catheter movably disposed in the second portion of the inner volume. The actuator moves the catheter between a first position, in which the catheter is disposed within the introducer, and a second position, in which at least a portion of the catheter is disposed within the peripheral intravenous line.

  • Publication number: 20230240699
Abstract: Surgical instruments and methods of minimally invasive surgery are provided. The device may include two proximal handles each sized for a surgeon's hand, the two handles in fixed relative positions, and a distal probe attached to the handles. The probe can include a distal cutting member and contain or receive an imaging device. The system can be used for cutting anatomic members, such as ligaments, during minimally invasive surgical procedures, for example, performing endoscopic ligament release surgery, such as carpal tunnel release, plantar fasciotomy, gastrocnemius release, cubital tunnel release, and tarsal tunnel release surgery, and similar surgical procedures on anatomic members.
