  • Patent number: 7704752
Abstract: Methods and compound useful for detecting a source of hydrogen peroxide are disclosed wherein a signalling compound of the formula: is reacted with peroxide. Sig is a non-polymeric organic group, B is a boron atom, and each R is independently selected from hydrogen, alkyl and aryl groups and can be joined together as a straight or branched alkylene chain forming a ring or as an aromatic ring. A detectable product compound of the formula Sig-OH or Sig-O? is produced and detected by measuring color, absorbance, fluorescence, chemiluminescence, or bioluminescence. The signalling compound itself does not possess the detectable property or does so only to a very weak degree. The methods can be used as a detectable signal in assays for peroxide or peroxide-producing enzymes and in assays employing enzyme-labeled specific binding pairs.

  • Patent number: 7705397
Abstract: A DMOS transistor is fabricated with its source/body/deep body regions formed on the walls of a first set of trenches, and its drain regions formed on the walls of a different set of trenches. A gate region that is formed in a yet another set of trenches can be biased to allow carriers to flow from the source to the drain. Lateral current low from source/body regions on trench walls increases the active channel perimeter to a value well above the amount that would be present if the device was fabricated on just the surface of the wafer. Masking is avoided while open trenches are present. A transistor with a very low on-resistance per unit area is obtained.

  • Patent number: 7706988
Abstract: A method of predicting at least one physical change in crack geometry of a crack in a pipeline based on in-line inspection operating pressure is presented. In one method, a first test on a pipeline is performed at a first pressure, which obtains a first set of test data. A second test is performed on the pipeline at a second pressure, obtaining a second set of test data. The first and second sets of test data are compared for any difference. A run comparison software processing device may be employed. In other methods, finite element analysis of crack-like dimensions is performed to predict Crack Mouth Opening Displacement (CMOD) for a given set of crack dimensions for a surface-breaking crack and inline pipe inspection operating run pressure. Another method predicts probability of detection of a crack associated with a given CMOD as a function of pressure in successive inspections.

  • Patent number: 7706751
Abstract: Provided is a method for transmitting and receiving data with low BER in presence of interference between subscriber stations. In the method each subscriber station is assigned to its own Unique Address Code (UAC) and to its own Encoded Information Group (EIG). A receiving device first attempts to detect the UAC of a transmitter device by comparing the incoming signal with the receiver's internal Reference Signal (RS). The Number of Continuous Clock Rate Periods (NCCRP) of the RS, which continuously matches with the incoming signal acts as the criteria for UAC detection. When the measured value of the NCCRP surpasses a Threshold Value of Matches, then the receiving device is synchronized with the transmitter device. Subsequently, the data is separated from interferences by measuring Voltage Hops of the level of the incoming signal at the start and end points of the “0” and “1” bits in the received signal.

  • Patent number: 7707212
Abstract: Methods, systems, and articles of manufacture for propagating annotations created for data objects appearing in a variety of different application types are provided. Some embodiments present users collaborating on a project with an indication of data objects in a current document that have been annotated, or that related data objects have been annotated, in other documents. Users may then review the annotations and selectively associate the annotations with the related data object in the current document, thereby spreading the tacit knowledge reflected in the annotation about related data objects across many documents in an enterprise network. Further, an annotation management system may maintain a thesaurus of related terms and corresponding annotation points to find annotations for data objects that exist in other documents without having to inspect the data object(s) associated with each existing annotation.
