  • Patent number: 9191396
Abstract: System, method and program for identifying a subset of a multiplicity of source networks. The subset including one or more source networks which have sent messages to one of a plurality of destination locations having a same IP address. For each of the multiplicity of source networks, a determination is made whether there are fewer intervening hops from the source network to the one destination location than from the source network to other of the plurality of destination locations. If so, the source network is included in the subset. If not, the source network is not included in the subset. One application of the present invention is to identify a source of a denial of service attack. After the subset is identified, filters can be sequentially applied to block messages from respective source networks in the subset to determine which source network in the subset is sending the messages.

  • Patent number: 9190701
Abstract: The present invention uses TE01(n?) single-mode resonators in different orientations that are cascaded along an evanescent mode waveguide. By exploiting multiple orthogonal evanescent modes that can alternatively by-pass, or excite the resonators, cross-coupling between non-adjacent resonators is established and properly controlled. Pseudoelliptic filters are realized without using cumbersome cross-coupled architectures, or reduced spurious performance multi-mode resonators. A 6th order filter with two transmission zeros in the lower stopband, a 5th order filter with three transmission zeros, and an 8th order filter with four transmission zeros are included as embodiments of the present invention.

  • Patent number: 9187435
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for preparing linear polymers having an amide end or having a star architecture comprising an amide core, by means of a ring opening using lactide and glycolide monomers or a lactide monomer ring in the presence of a catalyst, wherein the method includes the steps of: (i) reacting the excess monomer(s) with an initiator in a solvent, said initiator being selected from among an amine and an amino alcohol, given that the initiator has at least one primary or secondary amine function; (ii) adding a catalyst, said catalyst being a non-nucleophilic base and including at least one neutral sp2 nitrogen atom; and (iii) neutralizing the reaction mixture. Said novel method is particularly advantageous in that it can be easily monitored and enables better modulation of the polymers, and thus of the properties thereof, than the methods of the prior art. The invention also relates to novel polymers that are obtainable by means of said method.

  • Patent number: 9191495
Abstract: A communication system comprises a plurality of line cards having transceivers coupled to a plurality of subscriber lines. Each line card has at least one active transceiver within the same vectoring group, and each line card also has vector logic capable of cancelling crosstalk induced by an active transceiver that is a member of the vectoring group. Further, the line cards are coupled to one another via a ring connection across which vectoring information is passed from one line card to the next. In the event of a failure of one of the line cards, the failed card is bypassed by the vectoring stream so that the operational line cards can continue crosstalk vectoring operations despite such failure.
