Abstract: A surgical safety scalpel comprising a blade, fixed at one end to an extended nose on a handle, covered with a sheath longitudinally slidably and inseparably mounted on said handle, said sheath comprising an elongated housing comprising an upper surface, a lower surface and two side surfaces connecting the upper and lower surfaces together, an aperture through said lower surface and a handle with a first button mounted on surface of said handle and aligned opposite to the said first button a second button wherein the said aperture on the sheath engages with the first button and second button in the blocking position of covering the said blade and wherein a base of the said sheath engages with a third button near the proximal end of tail of the said handle preventing the said sheath to slide of the handle when the sheath is in ready position and wherein the said second button also engages the said sheath from sliding over the said blade its exposed state and during use.

Abstract: The invention relates to a needle safety device for a medical device, the needle safety device comprising: a base portion having a bore extending in an axial direction therethrough for receiving a needle; two opposing jaws extending from the base portion generally in the axial direction and each having a head portion in the region of its free end, wherein at least one of the head portions forms a locking shoulder for securing the needle safety device in a housing of the medical device; and an elastic element surrounding the jaws in a region between the base portion and the head portions, wherein the elastic element and the jaws are configured such that the jaws can be spread apart against a restoring force of the elastic element in order to allow the needle received in the bore to extend all the way through the needle safety device. The invention also relates to a needle for a medical device and to an intravenous catheter apparatus comprising a needle and a needle safety device.

Abstract: The invention relates to a needle protector assembly comprising a needle of a disposable medical device and a protective cover for the needle, wherein the needle is attached to a needle hub which can be moved relative to the protective cover between a position of use in which at least the tip of the needle is outside of the protective cover, and a retracted position iii which the needle is fully received in the protective cover, wherein the needle protector assembly further comprises a locking mechanism adapted to secure the needle hub inside the protective cover when the needle hub is in the retracted position.

Abstract: The invention relates to a catheter introducer comprising: a tube-like introducer sheath; an introducer hub having a distal section and a proximal section, wherein the distal section is joined to the proximal end of the introducer sheath and the proximal section defines a chamber; a needle extending through the introducer hub and the introducer sheath and having opposite proximal and distal ends, the distal end forming a needle tip; a needle hub attached to the proximal end of the needle; a needle safety device slidably arranged on the needle, wherein the needle safety device is retained in the chamber of the introducer hub when the needle extends through the introducer hub and the introducer sheath, and removable from the introducer hub once the needle tip is received in the needle safety device upon withdrawal of the needle from the introducer sheath.

Abstract: A safety device for the needle of intravenous catheter apparatus comprising of a tip blocker which blocks the needle tip, a spring assembled in compressed state held by a disc inside the groove of the tip blocker which pushes the tip blocker downwards and a bush fitted in the needle passageway which does not allow the needle to come out of the safety device. The safety device is capable of locking inside it and covering the needle tip so that the needle of intravenous catheter apparatus can be disposed of safely.
