Abstract: Generally, this disclosure describes a method and system for peer-based collaborative discovery and signaling of another device in limited signal areas. A method may include, in an embodiment, initiating a sensing mode in a seek mobile device in response to receiving an indication that a location of a lost mobile device is unknown; capturing first position data if a signal from the lost device is detected; capturing second position data in response to losing the signal from the lost device; and determining an estimated location of the lost device based on the first position data and the second position data, wherein the lost device is located in an area of limited or no connectivity and the seek device is moving through the area.

Abstract: Various embodiments are directed to a media processing device that can create a personalized passive viewing experience for a user. A personalization engine may determine viewer preferences based on multiple factors including past viewing behavior, web-browsing history, calendar event topics, and email data topics. The viewer preferences may then be formed into a user profile. A content aggregator component may then search multiple content sources for content compatible with the user profile. The content aggregator component may save found content or pointers to the content for later reference. The personalization engine may organize the saved content into a series of individual content items which may be presented on a display. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: Systems and methods for searching for lost moving objects such as children are disclosed. In some embodiments, the systems and methods initiate an autonomous, expanding electronic search by emitting a search activation signal from a search initiation device. The search activation signal may include the target tag identifier of a target tag conveyed by the moving object. Search devices detecting the target tag may generate a hit signal, which may be used to determine the location of the target tag. In some instances, focused human searching for the moving object may be initiated based on this determined location, and/or on location information included in one or more hit signals.

Abstract: Systems and methods directed to creating a sensory experience in a vehicle are described herein. Data may be received from one or more sources. Device data may be generated based at least in part on the received data. One or more output components associated with the vehicle may be identified. The device data may be transmitted to one or more output components for output to a user of the vehicle.

Abstract: Technologies for securely transferring whiteboard content data from a smart whiteboard device to another smart whiteboard device are disclosed. The smart whiteboard device may securely transfer the whiteboard content data to a mobile device. In response to receiving the whiteboard content data from the smart whiteboard device, the mobile device may transfer the received whiteboard content data to the other smart whiteboard device. The other smart whiteboard device may display the transferred whiteboard content data and enable manipulation thereof.

Abstract: Systems and methods may provide for receiving a first request from a remote device for access to content on a second remote device, and invoking a proxy server embedded in an HTML5-compliant browser on a local device. Additionally, the first remote device may be provided with access to the content on the second remote device via the proxy server. Moreover, input may be received from a user interface of the local device, wherein a second request may be transmitted to the first remote device for access to content on a third remote device. In one example, the first remote device is unauthorized with respect to the content on the second remote device, and the local device is unauthorized with respect to the content on the third remote device.

Abstract: In some embodiments, the invention involves context based search engine using a user selected term within a media experience. A natural language processor module is configured to provide context based keywords related to the search term and from within the media experience. In some embodiments, a proximity based statistical analysis is used to derive the keywords. The keywords are provided to at least one content browser or other search engine(s) to effect the search. In some embodiments, a machine learning module is communicatively coupled to the natural language processer to further refine the context for selecting relevant keywords. The context search engine, natural language processor module, machine learning module and search engine may reside on the same computing device or be distributed among a variety of local, remote and cloud devices for processing. Abstract: In some embodiments, methods and devices for generation and playback of metadata directed dynamic and personal data curation of content are described. In at least one embodiment, an embodiment is intended to ensure presentations using Web or remote content remain fresh, using current content and can transcend cultural, geographical or demographic barriers to be relevant and effectively communicate intent. Dynamic story elements within a presentation are correlated with metadata tags having information about the process used to find or grab the content and may include criteria for replacing content to be more contextually relevant to a reader's experience, geographic location, demographic or other context. Abstract: A system, devices, and methods for providing a personalized search library based on continual concept correlation include a client computing device and a personalized content server. Content events representing content accessed or manipulated by a user of the client computing device are continually generated. Content associated with the content events is continually parsed and analyzed to extract main concepts. The extracted concepts are correlated and weighted into a concept model, based on the order of the content events. The concept model parallels the structure of the user's memory. Data sources are continually searched for content relevant to a current context of the concept model. Relevant content is indexed according to the concept model. The relevant content may be made available to the user upon request or proactively. Relevant content may be cached for future use by the user. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: Systems and methods for transporting physical objects from real physical life into virtual worlds. Briefly stated, the method includes receiving characteristic and structure data from an object constructed in the real world. The characteristic and structure data is obtained from the object using a plurality of sensors placed in the vicinity of the object to sense the characteristics and structure of the object. The characteristic and structure data of the object is used to produce code necessary to create an equivalent representation of the object in a virtual world.

Abstract: A method, device, and system for browser-based application security verification is disclosed. A client device requests a browser-based application from a web server. An application security module of the client device intervenes and transmits an application verification request to a cloud service system. The cloud service system retrieves data regarding the security of the application and source from cloud resources and a local database of the cloud server. The cloud service system then uses the data to authenticate the source and verify the security of the browser-based application. The cloud service system provides the client device with a recommendation regarding the security of the browser-based application and updates its local database. The client device may then consider the recommendation in determining whether to download or execute the browser-based application and provide feedback to the cloud service system.

Abstract: A device and method for predictively precaching content on a mobile communication device includes monitoring numerous data sources for contextual data on the activities of the user. The mobile communication device predicts network connectivity outages and affected applications using the contextual data. The mobile communication device notifies the affected applications of the predicted network connectivity outage, and in response the affected applications precache suitable content. The affected applications may employ several precaching strategies in response to the notification, such as downloading content from a remote content server, adjusting content streaming, or adjusting content buffering prior to the predicted network connectivity outage. During the network outage, application service is provided using the precached content. Such precaching may also be accomplished using a local caching proxy server.

Abstract: A device, method, and system for developing, managing, acquiring and playing electronic board games. Game developers may illustratively access one or more electronic game board, game piece templates and/or other game development application software from a game server to design and develop electronic board games. Such electronic board games may then be acquired by game players in the form of full, limited and/or modifiable versions. A game service module of the game server makes a number of electronic board game related services available to game players for managing, playing and acquiring electronic board game collections and/or for enhancing or facilitating electronic board game playing.

In some embodiments, the mobile device may receive selection input pertaining to generating output from a media file containing at least two of audio data, video data, and closed-captioning data, the selection input selecting at least one of audio, video, and closed-captioning to be output during play of the media content. In some embodiments, the mobile device may generate an audio output as a signal in response to the selection input including audio. In some embodiments, the mobile device may generate a video output as a signal in response to the selection input including video. In some embodiments, the mobile device may generate a closed-captioning output as a signal in response to selection input including closed-captioning.

Abstract: Systems and methods may provide for detecting a browser request for web content. Additionally, interaction information associated with a plurality of sources may be determined in response to the browser request, and a risk profile may be generated based on the interaction. The risk profile may include at least a portion of the interaction information as well as recommended control actions to mitigate the identified risk. In one example, the risk profile is presented to a user associated with the browser request as well as to a security control module associated with the platform.

Abstract: A touchscreen-based user interface that allows the user to perform information searching on a mobile information appliance, such as a tablet computer or smart phone. By moving one or two fingers in appropriate direction(s) across the touchscreen, a search may be specified. Moreover, by using the appropriate gestures, a search may be broadened or narrowed by specifying additional search terms. This may be performed iteratively to allow the user to discover information, at various times narrowing or broadening a search.

Abstract: Systems and methods may provide for receiving web content and detecting an access control attribute associated with the web content. Additionally, the access control attribute may be monitored for a disablement condition. In one example, the disablement condition may be detected, an access policy may be determined in response to the disablement condition, and the access policy may be implemented.
