  • Patent number: 9081538
Abstract: The methods and apparatuses described herein include a data center having a three-level roof structure including an overarching rainfly roof to protect the data center from severe weather events. The three-level roof structure further includes a secondary roof structure below the rainfly roof structure as well as a lower redundant roof structure coupled together. A data hall within the data center has a ceiling below the lower redundant roof structure and is adapted to store a plurality of cabinets to hold electronic equipment. The lower redundant roof structure can be coupled with the secondary roof structure using an airtight seal such that the data center is airtight allowing for the data hall below to be positively pressurized to facilitate air flow through the electronic equipment. Heated air emitted from the electronic equipment is conducted through into a hot air return region above the data hall ceiling, while cold air is supplied to the electronic equipment below the data hall ceiling.

  • Patent number: 7150499
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a collapsible cover for protecting an occupant in a seating unit having a head region and a foot region. The cover has a body comprised of a flexible material having a top portion and at least one side wall portion, the top portion having a generally ellipse shape and having a length to span the distance between the head region and foot region of the seating unit and a width to span the width of the seating unit. The sidewall portion is connected to the top portion along a substantial portion of the periphery of the top portion to provide an arched configuration to the top portion. The cover further has a single closed loop frame member made of a flexible, coil-able, resilient material, that is secured along the length of the structure's membrane body so as to assume an ellipse-like shape when viewed from above, that is bent into an arched configuration about its minor axis.

  • Patent number: 4346525
Abstract: There is disclosed a cushion pad for sport shoes and the like and a method for manufacturing such a pad and the combination of such a pad with a sport shoe and the like. The pad of the present invention is fabricated from a flat web of closed pore foam of cross-linked ethylene vinyl acetate-low density polyethylene copolymer. The pad is formed between two opposing molds to present a shape having a cup-like depression adapted and constructed to accept essentially the heel portion of a human being. The so-formed pad is then cut out of the remainder of the formed web in a manner whereby the pad provides support from just in back of the first metatarsal joint to the sides and back of the calcaneus. It has been found that the resultant pad made within the purivew of the invention requires only a few sizes to fit most of the feet of possible users.

  • Patent number: 4110876
Abstract: A muffler is provided for use in conjunction with a jet for treating a running length of yarn. Audible noise which is emitted by the jet is reduced by at least 11.5 .DELTA.dB(A) through the use of a housing to substantially enclose the jet. The housing has openings for the entrance and exit of a yarn and is at least partially lined with sound absorbing material; sound absorbing material also closes the openings in the housing. The travelling yarn abrades through the sound absorbing material at the openings to form an operational passage to and from the jet.
