  • Publication number: 20190153395
Abstract: Organs-on-chips are microfluidic devices for culturing living cells in micrometer sized chambers in order to model physiological functions of tissues and organs. Engineered patterning and continuous fluid flow in these devices has allowed culturing of intestinal cells bearing physiologically relevant features and sustained exposure to bacteria while maintaining cellular viability, thereby allowing study of inflammatory bowl diseases. However, existing intestinal cells do not possess all physiologically relevant subtypes, do not possess the repertoire of genetic variations, or allow for study of other important cellular actors such as immune cells. Use of iPSC-derived epithelium, including IBD patient-specific cells, allows for superior disease modeling by capturing the multi-faceted nature of the disease.

  • Publication number: 20190106228
Abstract: Robotic pick-and-place automation is used to transfer oral solid pharmaceuticals from moveable trays or canisters. Sensors are used to verify that the pharmaceuticals have been properly placed in the desired pharmaceutical locations precisely according to the patient prescription data. A pharmacist places pharmaceutical products within dispensing trays or canisters to present the pharmaceutical products for picking and placing via the robotic pick-and-place machinery. Once the canister or tray is located adjacent the pick-and-place device, a sensor or imaging unit associated with the pick-and-place device verifies that the pharmaceutical product the size, shape, and/or color of an expected pharmaceutical product that is to be placed within the packaging material in accordance with patient prescription data stored by a computer associated with the system.

  • Patent number: 10033610
Abstract: A metric driven method for managing a network can include the step of specifying a profile for a network event. The profile can include multiple discrete factors and can be associated with at least one event operation. Metrics can be received from multiple remotely located components residing within a network space. The metrics can be compared to the discrete factors, where each compared metric can correspond to one of the factors. A determination based on this comparison can indicate whether the network event has occurred. When the network event has occurred, the previously specified event operation associated with the network event can be automatically executed.

  • Publication number: 20180195762
Abstract: The present invention is generally directed to a system for providing heating, cooling, and domestic hot water (DHW) using a water source heat pump, the system including: a compressor; a source heat exchanger; a load heat exchanger; a DHW heat exchanger; and a DHW storage tank. In some embodiments, the system may be concealable, and mounted between two wall studs. In some embodiments, a water-to-water water source heat pump and DHW storage tank may be mounted between the same wall studs, the system having a width of no more than 14.5? and a depth of no more than 7?. In some embodiments, in a heating cycle high-temperature high-pressure refrigerant in a gaseous phase is provided to both a brazed plate DHW heat exchanger and a brazed plate load heat exchanger in a parallel manner so one of the heat exchangers receives the refrigerant at a time.

  • Publication number: 20180176290
Abstract: In some embodiments, data related to calculating a set of values may be obtained. The set of values may be approximated based on a subset of the related data. The approximated values may be stored at a first data storage and a second data storage that corresponds to a landing zone (via which a client device obtains at least some of the approximated values). The approximated values stored at the first data storage may be continuously updated based on further subsets of the related data such that the approximated values stored at the first data storage is updated at least a first number of times within a first time period. The approximated values stored at the second data storage may be continuously updated such that the approximated values stored at the second data storage is updated less than the first number of times within the first time period.

  • Publication number: 20180173767
Abstract: In certain embodiments, queries may be facilitated via request-prediction-based temporary storage of query results. In some embodiments, a request for query results may be predicted. Queries for at least some of the query results may be predicted responsive to the request prediction, where the performed queries are a subset of a set of queries that would have been performed to respond to the request had the request been obtained from a client device, and no performance of one or more other queries of the set of queries occurs from the request prediction. Results may be obtained based on the performed queries and caused to be stored in temporary data storage. The request may be obtained from the client device subsequent to the storage of the results. The results may be obtained from the temporary data storage based on the request from the client device.

Responsive to the request prediction, queries for data related to calculating a set of values may be performed. A subset of the related data may be obtained based on the performed queries. The performance of the queries may be caused to stop prior to obtaining other subsets of the related data. The set of values may be predicted based on the subset of the related data. The predicted set of values may be caused to be stored in temporary data storage. The request may be obtained from a client device subsequent to the storage of the predicted set of values. • Patent number: 9942312
Abstract: In certain embodiments, load reduction at a landing zone may be facilitated. In some embodiments, a request related to a client-initiated query may be predicted. A second landing zone may be assigned to handle responding to the query-related request, where the second landing zone is different from a first landing zone at which the query-related request is subsequently obtained. Responsive to obtaining the query-related request at the first landing zone from a client device, cause, based on the assignment to the second landing zone, the client device to redirect the query-related request to the second landing zone. The client device may be caused to redirect the query-related request such that the client device transmits the query-related request and subsequent requests for an update related to the client-initiated query to the second landing zone without first transmitting the subsequent requests to the first landing zone.

  • Publication number: 20180096445
Abstract: Embodiments provide techniques, including systems and methods, for identifying and matching requestors and providers. For example, embodiments can display an identification pattern that is unique for a matched requestor and provider to allow the providers and requestors to quickly, easily, and accurately validate one another's identities prior to a service being provided. In some embodiments, the identification element may be presented on a provider communication device to clearly display graphics associated with an identification element to all requestors in an area so that the requestors may easily identify a matched provider.

  • Publication number: 20180039636
Abstract: Systems and methods of prioritizing retrieval and/or processing of data related to a subset of attributes based on a prediction of associated values are presented herein. In certain implementations, a request for values associated with respective first attributes may be received. Based on the request, first queries for data related to the first attributes may be performed. Based on the first queries, a first subset of data related to calculating at least some of the associated values may be received. At least some of the associated values may be predicted based on the first subset of data. Based on the prediction of the associated values, retrieval and/or processing of data related to a first subset of the first attributes may be prioritized over retrieval and/or processing of data related to one or more other subsets of the first attributes.

  • Patent number: 9807728
Abstract: A datacenter server information handling system topology is determined from Bluetooth Low Energy beacon signals communicated with a mobile information handling system that provides multiple ranges temporally related as the mobile information handling system moves through the datacenter. Server information handling system positions are determined and mapped relative to each other and also relative to position information detected in the datacenter, such as with a camera or accelerometer disposed in the mobile information handling system.

  • Publication number: 20170252804
Abstract: It is currently difficult to deposit metallic conductors as contiguous metal traces during additive manufacturing processes, particularly when dielectric materials are present that are readily heat-softened. Additive manufacturing processes can include: providing a first printing composition containing metal nanoparticles and a second printing composition containing a dielectric material; depositing the first and second printing compositions together to form an object having a desired shape, in which the metal nanoparticles are unconsolidated with one another after being deposited; and heating the object above a fusion temperature of the metal nanoparticles and below a softening temperature of the dielectric material to define one or more contiguous metal traces in the object in which the metal nanoparticles are at least partially fused together with one another in a defined shape.
