  • Publication number: 20100287871
Abstract: An improved corbel includes a first tier having first blocks and a second tier having second blocks. Each of the first blocks includes a first aperture extending through the block from a first surface to a back surface and a second aperture formed through a top surface of the block, extending into the first aperture. The first blocks are arranged on a substantially planar surface to align the respective first apertures to define a first passageway. Each of the second blocks includes a third aperture extending through the second block from a top surface to a bottom surface. The second blocks are disposed above the first tier to align the third aperture of each of the second blocks with the second aperture of the first blocks to form a second passageway.

  • Publication number: 20090318347
Abstract: The invention provides a compound of formula (I): X-PYY*(3-36) (I) wherein X is selected from H, PYY1-2 (ie Tyr Pro) and D-Allo-Ue; PYY*(3-36) representing PYY (3-36) in which one or more residues is replaced by an acylated lysine group, the acyl group being selected from: CO—C1-20 alkyl, CO—C2-20 alkenyl, CO—C5-10 aryl and CO—C5-10 ar-C1-20 alkyl; a variant or derivative thereof; or a salt or solvate thereof. The compounds are effective in inducing satiety and suppressing appetite and they are thus useful in treating various diseases, including obesity.

  • Publication number: 20090298757
Abstract: Compounds of the invention are novel peptide analogues of oxyntomodulin (oxm) in which one or more amino acids of the oxm sequence have been changed. Changing amino acids 15-24 of oxm to either amino acids 968-977 of the ?-latrotoxin peptide (and variations thereof) or amino acids 15-24 of exendin-4 (and variations thereof), or combinations of sequences from these sources, and/or changing amino acids 27-33 of oxm to amino acids 27-33 of exendin-4, and/or the addition of amino acids to the C-terminus of the peptide, results in a series of analogues of oxm that demonstrate the oxm like activity of reducing food intake, and with certain embodiments a greater ability to decrease food intake.

  • Patent number: 5746348
Abstract: A hair treatment applicator timer receptacle including in one embodiment, in axially aligned relation, an applicator spout including a base portion and an applicator tip portion, an elongated liquid receptacle in bottle form, and a housing having a timer mechanism therein. The means for attachment of the receptacle to the housing is adapted for easy attachment and detachment of the receptacle from the base. The timer includes a digital LCD display audio alarm to indicate the expiration of a pre-set time period. The bottle-type liquid receptacle is a collapsible plastic container. The plastic container defines an open mouth which is removably closed by the applicator spout. An annular reservoir surrounds the base of the applicator tip portion for capturing excess hair coloring mixture which inadvertently escapes from the applicator tip portion.

  • Patent number: 4872594
Abstract: A hair coloring applicator bottle including, in an axially aligned relation, and applicator spout including a base portion and an applicator tip portion, an elongated liquid receptacle, a timer mechanism, and a base. Time period indicia and timer pointer indicia are alternately provided on the liquid receptacle and base for setting the timer mechanism. The liquid receptacle includes a collapsible plastic container and a container holder. The plastic container defines an open mouth which is removably closed by the applicator spout. The timer mechanism is secured to the container holder and includes a timer shaft which rotates relative to the timer mechanism, and is connected to the base. By such construction, the base is secured to the container housing in a manner preventing separation of the liquid receptacle from the timer mechanism. An annular reservoir surrounds the base of the applicator tip portion for capturing excess hair coloring mixture which inadvertently escapes from the applicator tip portion.
