  • Publication number: 20220040018
Abstract: This invention is a smart bed or mattress for reducing pressure ulcers with an orthogonal array of movable straps or layers which creates a low-pressure area. The location of the low-pressure area is selected to be under a portion of a person's body which is at risk for getting a pressure ulcer. A low-pressure area can be created: where straps which have been slackened overlap; where elastic segments of movable straps overlap; or where the movement of straps creates an opening.

  • Publication number: 20220035167
Abstract: This invention is augmented reality eyewear with a radial, honeycomb, or nested-ring array of selectively-movable reflective elements. These reflective elements can each be moved from a first configuration which is parallel to a line of sight from an eye to a second configuration which is perpendicular to this line of sight. The second configuration reflects light displaying a virtual image to the eye and blocks environmental light in the area of the virtual image. Since light from the environment does not shine through the virtual object, the virtual object appears solid instead of “ghost like.

  • Publication number: 20220000490
Abstract: This invention is an intrasacular aneurysm occlusion device with a longitudinal mesh ribbon having a series of loops or segments with distal-to-proximal variation in their sizes, shapes, or orientations. For example, loops or segments can be progressively smaller in size and/or progressively more curved as one views the series in a distal-to-proximal direction. The device may also enable a user to selectively and remotely bend, steer, or elongate the loops or segments in real time as the ribbon is being deployed into an aneurysm sac.

  • Publication number: 20210401440
Abstract: This invention is an intrasacular aneurysm occlusion device comprising a flexible net or mesh with a proximal portion and a distal portion which is inserted into and expanded within an aneurysm sac. The proximal portion is stiffer and/or less flexible than the distal portion. The device also includes an opening through which embolic members and/or embolic material is inserted into the flexible net or mesh. Insertion of embolic members and/or material causes the flexible net or mesh to expand and conform to the walls of even an irregularly-shaped aneurysm sac.

  • Publication number: 20210393270
Abstract: This invention is an intrasacular aneurysm occlusion device with a proximal stent which is expanded to a globular shape within an aneurysm sac and then compressed into a bowl shape which covers the aneurysm neck. The device further comprises embolic members and/or embolic material which is inserted into a distal portion of the aneurysm sac. The proximal stent component covers the aneurysm neck so as to reduce blood flow into the aneurysm sac and the accumulated embolic members and/or embolic material in the distal portion of the aneurysm sac keeps the proximal stent in place.

  • Patent number: 11167282
Abstract: An auto-pipetting apparatus includes a dispensing head with at least one pipetting tip mandrel having an elongated stud body with an insertion end. The at least one pipetting tip mandrel mates with a pipetting tip. A first adjustable seal, disposed on the elongated stud body, and a second adjustable seal, disposed on the elongated stud body, seal the pipetting tip mated to the at least one pipetting tip mandrel. The first adjustable seal defines a snub surface. The snub surface effects a substantially continuous circumferential contact seal with radially impinging contact between the pipetting tip and the at least one pipetting tip mandrel. The second adjustable seal is adjustable between a disengaged position and an engaged position and effects a releasable grip and another substantially continuous circumferential contact seal between the pipetting tip and the at least one pipetting tip mandrel around the pipetting tip.

  • Publication number: 20210236139
Abstract: This intrasacular aneurysm occlusion device includes a neck bridge with a closeable opening through which embolic material is inserted into an aneurysm sac. After the neck bridge has been expanded within the aneurysm sac, a catheter is inserted through the opening and embolic material is delivered through the catheter into the aneurysm sac. After the aneurysm sac has been filled with embolic material, the catheter is then withdrawn and the opening is closed so that embolic material does not escape out of the aneurysm sac.
