  • Patent number: 5545447
Abstract: A cup holder (10) which comprises a figurine (12) mounted on a base (22). The figurine (12) includes a pair of arms (14) with the hands (16) located in a downwardly extending position forming a pair of hook members. The hook members are to be located over the rim (30) of a cup (36) with an interlocking device (32) mounted on the cup (36) directly adjacent the bottom (34) of the cup (36) connecting with a lock hole (24) in the base (22). The figurine (12) is sufficiently deflectable so as to permit disengagement of the figurine (12) from the cup (36). When disengaged, the figurine (12) can be located internally or externally in a stacked position on the cup (36). The figurine (12) can also be mounted on the inverted cup (36) resembling a trophy.

  • Patent number: 5522306
Abstract: A toaster (10) for toasting bagels, muffins, bread slices and other similar foodstuff (18 and 126), where the foodstuff (18 and 126) is inserted within an access opening (14) in the top of the toaster (10) onto a holding rack (186, 188), and the toasted foodstuff (18, 126) is then automatically exited through an exit opening (26) located in the bottom area of the toaster (10). Associated with the exit opening (26) is a planar member (30) which has a work surface (28) upon which the toasted foodstuff (18, 126) is to be deposited. The planar member (30) is to be pivotally mounted on the toaster housing (12) to move between a stowage position and a usage position. A safety protected foodstuff cutter (36) is mounted on the toaster housing (12) with this foodstuff cutter (36) to be operable to divide certain foodstuff (18, 126) into two pieces to facilitate its toasting operation. A novel mechanism is included within the toaster (10) to achieve the toasting operation.

  • Patent number: 5520564
Abstract: A hand holdable, large bubble producing toy (10) that when activated by a human produces a thin soapy membrane across an air space. Movement of air into the air space results in the production of one or more large bubbles. Activation of the toy (10) is accomplished by manually moving of a pivot arm (76) which electrically operates a pump to supply soapy liquid (54) along the entire length of a pair of half loop members (80,86). Movement of the half loop members (80,86) from an abutting alongside position to an aligned position will encircle the air space and will result in the production of a thin soapy membrane across the air space through which air will be moved to form bubbles.

  • Patent number: 5499763
Abstract: A collapsible container in the form of a thin sheet material body which is capable of being collapsed by being folded upon itself. When unfolded the body assumes a cone shaped or pyramid shaped chamber. Incorporated within the body is a center section which can be deflected into a cone shape or pyramid shape which is oppositely oriented to the cone shape or pyramid shape of the chamber. The deflected center section will function to retain the container in its expanded position thereby permitting the chamber to be used for small foodstuff particles such as pretzels, potato chips, popcorn and the like. There is a further embodiment which does not require deflection but is constructed of multiple parts that are assembled in a similar cone shape or pyramid shape configuration to form two separate chambers.

  • Patent number: 5498191
Abstract: A hand holdable bubble producing toy that, when activated by the user, produces a stream of bubbles. Activation of the toy is accomplished by manually moving of a trigger which electrically operates a fan and a pump as well as a film producing mechanism in order to produce the dispensed bubbles and includes a collection system for recycling unused bubble solution.

  • Patent number: 5456378
Abstract: An opening tab for a closure wall of a container, such as a beverage container, where the opening tab is to be movable in a plane perpendicular to the surface of the closure wall to affect consistent breaking of a frangible seal and deflecting of a panel formed within the closure wall, creating an access opening permitting dispensing of the contents of the container wherein the opening tab is to be stored other than in the 6 o'clock position and is to be movable sideways along the surface of the closure wall from a storage position to an elevated 6 o'clock frangible seal breaking position. Operating of the opening tab inadvertently in either the storage position or the frangible seal breaking position and any position there between will result in consistent breaking of the frangible seal, deflecting of the panel, and creating the access opening.

  • Patent number: 5409126
Abstract: A storage container which includes a base within which is defined a storage compartment. A lid is to be connectable with the base closing the storage compartment to the ambient. The lid is bulbous so that relative to the storage compartment it can be located in a concave position decreasing the size of the storage compartment or a convex position increasing the size of the storage compartment. This reversibility of the lid can be achieved by constructing the lid so as to actually be physically reversible or also by having the lid to be physically deflectable from the convex position to the concave position.

  • Patent number: 5404600
Abstract: A multipurpose fabric device which is locatable in either an extended position or a retracted position. When in the extended position, the device becomes a conventional sleeping bag and when in the retracted position, the device functions as a carry bag. The carry bag is to be carried by a shoulder strap by a human. The carry bag also includes a plurality of article storing compartments. The device also includes a pillow that is to be used when the device is in the sleeping bag position.

  • Patent number: 5379481
Abstract: A combined dustpan and broom wherein the dustpan is movable between a usage position and a stowage position. When in the stowage position, a broom is to be stowable in conjunction with the dustpan. A handle is connected to the dustpan by a U-shaped connector with the legs of the connector being offset so that when the broom is connected with the dustpan, movement of the dustpan from a stowage position to a usage position is prevented.

  • Patent number: 5350215
Abstract: A chair that is constructed of a plurality of interconnected tubular frame members with a flexible fabric-like cover covering sections of the tubular frame members forming a back section and a seat section. The chair is foldable from an extended/usable position to a retracted/stowage position. The chair includes armrests and attached to each armrest is a flexible walled container which is insulated to be usable to store beverage containers in a refrigerated condition. These flexible walled containers are joinable together when the chair is in the retracted/stowage position with the joining of these containers facilitating retaining of the chair in this retracted/stowage position. Back pack straps are attached to the back section which permits the chair to be carried on the back of a human being when the chair is in the retracted/stowage position.

  • Patent number: 5131555
Abstract: A top for a beverage container which includes a handle which is pivotally mounted on the top between a stowage position and a frangible seal breaking position. A camming arrangement is incorporated on the top which functions to locate the handle in a canted position within the frangible seal breaking position so as to facilitate the movement of the handle to frangibly separate a breakaway tab incorporated within the top. The locating of the handle in the canted position can be accomplished by use of a proturberance mounted on the top with the handle to be moved over to ride on the protuberance or can be accomplished by means of a protuberance mounted on the handle which rides within an arcuate slot formed within the top.

  • Patent number: 5094359
Abstract: A combination packaging/shipping carton and ice bucket for a plurality of can or bottled type of beverage containers, wherein the carton assumes a minimum volume position during packaging and shipping then can be moved to an expanded or increased volume position when it is intended to be used as an ice bucket. Each corner of the carton includes triangular webs which move from an abutting together position to a substantially in-line position during movement of the carton to the increased volume position. The side and end panels of the carton have attached thereto foldable flaps which fold over upon theirselves, when the carton is in the minimum volume position, closing the enclosing chamber of the carton to the ambient. When these foldable flaps are moved away from each other to assume a substantial in-line position with their respective side panel and end panel, the enclosing container is open to the ambient with this enclosing container increasing in size to permit usage of the carton as an ice bucket.
