  • Patent number: 9841262
Abstract: A linked round carrying bag having a flexible sleeve and a fastening is provided. The sleeve is sealed at a first end, has an opening at a second end, and has an openable closure, for example, a zip, extending substantially from the first end to the second end. A width of the sleeve is greater than the length of an individual round of the linked round that the bag is designed to carry but is less than twice the length of an individual round. The fastening is adjacent a closed side of an opening of the sleeve and is arranged to be tightly fastenable around the closed side of the opening and any linked round carried in the bag. The fastening can ensure that a linked round is held in its proper position within the bag, even when the bag is carried as a bandolier.

  • Patent number: 9833676
Abstract: A pitching training aid is provided. The pitching training aid includes an elongated poll having a first end, a second end, and a common axis running from the first end to the second end. The present invention further includes a ball having a slot running from a first side to a second side opposite the first side along a center of the ball. The slot is sized to fit around the elongated poll so that the ball slidably engages the elongated poll along the common center axis. A first stopper is secured to the first end of the elongated poll and a second stopper is secured to the second end of the elongated poll. The first stopper and the second stopper have a diameter greater than a diameter of the elongated poll, thereby preventing the ball from sliding off of the elongated poll.

  • Publication number: 20170347028
Abstract: The present inventive concept relates to a kiosk design for an advanced photographic system. More specifically, the present inventive concept relates to a self-contained, automated photobooth kiosk. In embodiments of the present inventive concept, the photobooth kiosk is capable of taking a 360 degree panoramic photograph or sequence of photographs of a subject and surrounding background. For instance, a customer of the photobooth kiosk may stand in the center of the photobooth and have his or her picture taken with a plurality of specialized “machine vision” cameras, with the images sent to a central processor such as a computer for processing into a 360 degree panoramic photograph or video clip. After the photo-taking session, the customer may collect prints of the pictures at the kiosk, similar to presently available photobooths.

  • Patent number: 9827440
Abstract: Lighting systems, methods, and devices for protecting human circadian neuroendocrine function during night use are described. Suitable lighting conditions can be provided for a working environment while protecting the circadian neuroendocrine systems of those occupying the illuminated workplace during the night. Lighting systems, methods, and devices can provide substantive attenuation of the pathologic circadian disruption in night workers. Lighting systems, methods, and devices can attenuate the specific bands of light implicated in circadian disruption. LED lighting systems, methods, and devices can provide increased intensity at a different portion of the spectrum than conventional LEDs, providing a useable white light even when unfavorable portions of the wavelength are attenuated by a notch filter.

  • Publication number: 20170326978
Abstract: Levels of substance use, location, and vital signs are remotely monitored for a subject. In one embodiment, the system includes a testing device (102) and a communication device (130). The testing device (102) obtains a breathalyzer sample from a test subject and determines a substance level. The communication device (130) reports the substance level to a remote monitoring station. In addition, location and camera functions of the communication device can report additional information for verification and system integrity. In other embodiments, the system can be incorporated into an ankle bracelet for monitoring movement of an individual or into a vehicle system to prevent operation while impaired.

  • Publication number: 20170306775
Abstract: An article, a component, and a method of making a component are provided. The article includes a pre-sintered preform having a contoured proximal face and a contoured distal face. The contoured proximal face is arranged and disposed to substantially mirror a contour of an end wall of a component and the contoured distal face is arranged and disposed to form an exterior surface including a modified surface characteristic. The component includes a first end wall, a second end wall, and an article secured to at least one of the first end wall and the second end wall, the article including a pre-sintered preform having a contoured proximal face and a contoured distal face. The contoured proximal face substantially mirrors a contour of at least one of the first end wall and the second end wall, and the contoured distal face is arranged and disposed to form an exterior surface thereover.

  • Patent number: 9770217
Abstract: Systems and methods are presented for evaluating a dental condition. A first digital representation of at least a portion of an oral cavity of a first patient is compared to a second digital representation of the oral cavity of the same patient. The first digital representation is representative of the oral cavity of the first patient at a first time and the second digital representation is representative of the oral cavity of the first patient at a second, later time. At least one clinically-significant difference between the first digital representation and the second digital representation are automatically identified and the first digital representation is displayed in a way that highlights the at least one clinically significant difference.
