  • Patent number: 11571174
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for delivering images to a patient before and/or during a medical procedure in which a patient is translated on a table relative to a gantry. In various example embodiments, images are projected to the patient while preserving the projected field size during table motion, thereby potentially reducing patient anxiety by providing a more immersive patient viewing experience. In some example embodiments, the projected field size is maintained by a display system that is secured to the table such that both a projector and a projection screen are fixed relative to the table, and relative to the patient, during translation of the table. In some example embodiments, a reduction in patient anxiety may be achieved by projecting images as virtual images that are perceived by the patient as residing at a depth that lies beyond the confined spatial region in which the patient resides.

  • Publication number: 20230021978
Abstract: According to various aspects, systems and methods are provided for tracking actions performed in various disparate talent platforms, and generating ratings for parties that use the talent platforms based on the tracked actions. Some embodiments provide objective ratings of hiring and staffing parties that are automatically determined based on stored data records of tracked actions. The hiring and staffing party ratings may build transparency of activity performed by the parties within the disparate talent platforms. This in turn builds trust among users of the online system.

  • Publication number: 20230025682
Abstract: Conventional methods for treating fat, oil, grease (FOG) and other build-up in wastewater systems (including grease traps) of restaurants and the like typically rely on chemical-based detergents, which may be damaging both to the environment and to the wastewater system itself. While some bio-friendly alternatives are known, a common problem with all these agents is that they are “flushed through” the system rapidly, and thus are relatively ineffective and inefficient. In providing an onsite system and method comprising cultivating micro-organisms and then using a carrier to deliver them to an affected environment, the present invention provides a solution that is more efficient in requiring less “starter” ingredients as well as more effective in ensuring the cultivated micro-organisms are delivered to, maintain sustained contact with, and have adequate time to treat, the undesirable substance(s).

  • Publication number: 20220409149
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for managing and reducing the severity or impact of a collision involving an apparatus secured to a table associated with a medical imaging and/or therapeutic gantry. Example systems are provided in which an apparatus is secured to the table such that a distal region of the apparatus extends beyond a longitudinal end of the table. A pivot joint associated with the apparatus is provided such that when a collision between the distal region of the apparatus and an object occurs due to motion of the table, the resulting force causes the apparatus to rotate relative to the pivot joint, thus passively accommodating the applied force and preventing, or reducing the likelihood of, mechanical buckling of the apparatus in the presence of the force. In some example embodiments, the apparatus is configured to rotate and/or translate as a result of the force applied during the collision.

  • Publication number: 20220381537
Abstract: An auto-center barrel cam for small optical systems including an outer barrel having a first channel extending longitudinally where the first channel is tapered from an inner surface to an outer surface of the outer barrel at a first angle and an inner barrel within the outer barrel. The inner barrel including a second channel extending longitudinally along the inner barrel where the second channel is tapered from an inner surface to an outer surface of the inner barrel at a second angle. A cam follower includes a flexure part having a first section with a first surface and a second section with a second surface. A spring section pulls the first section and the second section toward each other. The flexure part is arranged to maintain the cam follower within a center of the first and second channels as the inner barrel moves in relation to the outer barrel.

  • Patent number: 11503112
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosed subject matter are directed to facilitating peer-to-peer data exchange in a common domain. In accordance with one embodiment, a method is provided for obtaining content from one or more peers that are connected to the domain. The method includes registering a peer with a super-peer when a connection to the domain is established. Then, the connecting peer obtains data that describes various network conditions and identifies chunks of content available from other peers. In downloading content from other peers, heuristics are applied to select between available chunks that are potentially encoded at different bitrates. The heuristics account for the network conditions between peers and balance the potential need to quickly access content with the desire to obtain high quality content.

  • Publication number: 20220242608
Abstract: A one-piece, plastic-free blister package is disclosed. The package is formed from a one-piece card comprising a front support card having a window and a rear portion. The rear portion comprises a plurality of sidewalls and a plurality of tabs which can be folded to form a cavity to hold a small product. The package is then assembled by bonding part of the rear portion to the front support card through the application of heat and pressure. The package encloses the product, which is visible to consumers through the window cut on the front support card.

  • Publication number: 20210388957
Abstract: Channels and channel covers for linear lighting are disclosed. The channels have an upper compartment for linear lighting and a lower compartment that may be used as a raceway, to engage parts, and for rear entry of wires. Endcaps for the channels may engage the lower compartment. Cover-lenses for linear lighting channels are also disclosed. The cover-lenses may include diffusing material and implement a thickness gradient in order to maximize the amount of diffusing material where the emitted light intensity is expected to be greatest. Diverging Fresnel features may be superimposed on the thickness gradient in order to counteract any converging effect of the thickness gradient and cause emitted light to spread more evenly.

  • Patent number: 11118758
Abstract: A linear luminaire is disclosed. The linear luminaire includes a channel, in which a strip of linear lighting is disclosed. The strip of linear lighting may have an individual optic positioned over each LED light engine. A set of louvers is provided. The set of louvers is arranged such that an individual louver is positioned over each one of the LED light engines. The individual louvers are generally cylindrical in shape. The individual louvers are connected by a web or platform that carries engaging structure allowing the set of louvers to snap or slide into the channel. The channel is covered with a channel cover, which has edges that extend out over at least a portion of the channel sidewalls, making it more difficult for dust and other foreign matter to enter the channel. The channel cover may be transparent.
