  • Patent number: 10775833
Abstract: Clock generation for capturing a repetitive signal relative to a clock includes clock circuitry to provide a clock with active and inactive clock edges within a clock period, and signal capture circuitry to capture repetitive signal transitions at an active clock edge, based on pre-defined setup and hold times which determine a setup/hold window. Clock phase adjustment circuitry is configured to adjust clock phase so that the repetitive signal transitions occur within a signal capture window between setup/hold windows. Clock phase adjustment can be based on: aligning the clock inactive edges to the repetitive signal transitions; and/or averaging successive phase comparisons of the clock and the repetitive signal transitions; and/or selectively performing an initial polarity inversion to generate a polarity inverted clock, and then adjusting clock phase of the polarity inverted clock. An example implementation is JESD204B (subclass1) to adjust DEVCLK phase relative to a SYSREF timing reference control signal.

  • Publication number: 20200263674
Abstract: An atmosphere-breathing pulsed plasma thruster includes an inlet, a discharge section with an anode in fluid communication with the inlet, and a nozzle in fluid communication with the discharge section. Electrode assemblies extend radially through the discharge section and include a second electrode in the discharge section and an elongate portion extending outwardly. An electrode control mechanism moves the plurality of electrode assemblies between an inner position nearer to the anode and an outer position farther from the anode. At least one igniter extends between the anode and a cathode. An ignition circuit connects the anode and the cathodes to a first source of electric energy, and connects the igniter to a second source of electric energy through a controllable switch. A processor controls the position of the second electrodes, for example, in response to changes in atmospheric pressure.

  • Patent number: 10634041
Abstract: An ignition system for an internal combustion engine that utilizes a single primary coil and a single secondary coil to drive a pair of spark plugs. Current flowing in both a first direction and a second direction passes through the primary coil. The current flowing through the primary coil induces corresponding current in the secondary coil, which flows from the secondary coil to one of two spark plugs. Each spark plug is coupled to the secondary coil such that each of the two spark plugs receives current flowing only in a single direction. The current flowing through the ignition system can be from either a power source or created by the rotation of a flywheel having a series of magnet clusters.
