Patent number: 9416634Abstract: Operators manufacture a wellscreen by forming a wire-wrapped screen on a base pipe. Rather than stopping and restarting winding, the desired length of screen is completed along the base pipe, and then the wire screen is segmented into a plurality of screen sections as required for the various zones and details of the implementation. Operators arrange the screen sections relative to one another on the base pipe, which can have different lengths with and without perforations. On the free ends of these separate screen sections, mating split ring components fit around the free ends and the base pipes. Male edges of one split ring component mate to complementary female edges of another to form the end ring around the screen section and base pipe, and longitudinal welds made in seams along the mating edges affix the split ring components together.Type: GrantFiled: November 5, 2013Date of Patent: August 16, 2016Assignee: Weatherford Technology Holdings, LLCInventors: Peter Olenick, Henry Nguyen, Robert Hodge, Ronnie Royer

Publication number: 20150312513Abstract: Arrangements for preparing a television channel for presentation are presented. A tuner of a television receiver may tune to a first television channel and the first television channel may be output for presentation. One or more idle tuners of the television receiver may be identified. One or more television channels other than the first television channel may be selected for preparation. The one or more television channels may be selected prior to receiving user input selecting a television channel of the one or more television channels for presentation. Each of the one or more television channels may be prepared for presentation by tuning, by each tuner of the one or more idle tuners, to the one or more television channels prior to receiving the user input selecting the television channel of the one or more television channels for presentation.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 1, 2015Publication date: October 29, 2015Applicant: ECHOSTAR TECHNOLOGIES L.L.C.Inventors: David Kummer, Steven Michael Casagrande, Charlie William Zetterower, Kenneth Robert Hodge, William Michael Beals

Patent number: 9161090Abstract: Arrangements for preparing a television channel for presentation are presented. A set of one or more tuners that are idle may be identified. Being idle may correspond to not being used to receive any television channel data for presentation or recording. An electronic programming guide that indicates programming may be output for presentation. One or more television channels may be selected for preparation. The television channels may be selected based at least in part on one or more electronic programming guide operations and/or prior to receiving user input selecting a television channel of the one or more television channels for presentation. Each of the television channels may be prepared for presentation by tuning, by each tuner, to the one or more television channels prior to receiving the user input selecting the television channel of the television channels for presentation.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 2013Date of Patent: October 13, 2015Assignee: EchoStar Technologies, L.L.C.Inventors: David Kummer, Steven Michael Casagrande, Charlie William Zetterower, Kenneth Robert Hodge, William Michael Beals
