  • Publication number: 20110281505
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of grinding a continuously cast product (1), in particular a slab, wherein the continuously cast product is of rectangular cross section with two wide side faces (2 and 3) lying opposite one another and two narrow edge faces (4, 5) lying opposite one another, at least the wide side faces (2 and 3) being subjected to a surface treatment by at least one grinding tool (6). In order to be able to achieve a higher quality in the processing of the continuously cast product and to be able to collect the grinding chips in a simpler manner, the invention provides that during the grinding of a wide side face (2 and 3) of the continuously cast product (1), the continuously cast product (1) is positioned by a seat (7) such that a perpendicular (8) to the wide side face (2 and 3) of the continuously cast product (1) forms an acute angle (?) greater than zero degrees with the vertical (V). Furthermore, the invention relates to an apparatus for grinding a continuously cast product (1).

  • Patent number: 7872569
Abstract: A built-in instrument cluster for a motor vehicle includes at least one display device, which emits image-forming light and is arranged in the direct field of view of an observer, and at least one illuminated and/or self-illuminating electromechanical indicator device, which is arranged in the observer's field of view, at an angle to the display device, and is moved into the observer's field of view together with the display device via an optical combiner, which is arranged to reflect the image-forming light of the electromechanical indicator device. In order to be able to integrate such an instrument cluster into the tight spatial conditions in the instrument panel in the steering-column region, it is provided that the electromechanical indicator device is at least partially provided by light guides and/or light projectors to save depth at abutting vehicle components.

  • Publication number: 20100206697
Abstract: A walking-beam conveyor for stepped transport of heavy objects has an upstream beam extending in a horizontal transport direction and adapted to carry a plurality of the objects. A pair of horizontally spaced upstream supports underneath the upstream beam are associated with respective vertical and horizontal upstream drives for raising the upstream beam relative to the supports, shifting the upstream beam a step downstream, lowering the upstream beam, and shifting the upstream beam a step upstream to shift the objects on the upstream downstream in steps. In accordance with the invention a downstream beam immediately downstream of the upstream beam has an upstream end juxtaposed with a downstream end of the upstream beam with a single downstream support under the downstream beam. A pivot connects the downstream end of the upstream beam to the upstream end of the downstream beam for joint synchronous vertical and horizontal movement of the two beams.
