  • Patent number: 9433960
Abstract: A dosing device for dispensing liquid from a container (1) in which flow through flow openings (23) to an outlet tube (44) is blocked after controlled delay by an obturator (3) moveable within a control chamber (2) mounted in a container neck (101) behind the outlet tube (44). Movement of the obturator (3) is governed by restricted flow through control openings (28) at the rear of the control chamber. Restoration of the obturator to the back of the control chamber facilitates repeated dosing. An elastomeric element (6) of resiliently deformable material promotes a seal to achieve a cleanly defined dose. In one proposal the elastomeric element coats the surface of the obturator and/or the outlet tube (64) to cut off the flow. Another proposal provides a one-way elastomeric valve element (63) for blocking the flow openings to enable rapid recovery after a dosing operation.

  • Patent number: 9211559
Abstract: Pump dispenser, particularly a movable-nozzle pump dispenser, is intended especially for use in dispensing oral medicines e.g. to children. One feature disclosed is a tooth or ratchet structure engageable between the plunger head and the pump cylinder body. This enables optional holding of the plunger at an intermediate position during a dispensing stroke, so that a dose can be given bit by bit. Other proposals are formations around the top of the cylinder body which interact with the inside of the plunger to control or limit movement of the plunger according to their relative rotational orientation. For example the plunger may be locked up unless turned forcibly past a rotational stop. A related feature is a spring lock tab preventing rotation of the plunger unless the tab is pressed to release it. The product container may contain balls to cause agitation.

  • Publication number: 20150234063
Abstract: Systems and methods for optimizing low frequency output of marine sources are described. The marine source arrangements and associated methods disclosed herein seek to fully frequency lock bubbles emitted by airguns in close proximity to one another. In this manner, larger effective bubble volumes can be achieved, thus increasing low frequency output.

  • Publication number: 20150226129
Abstract: A method for detecting hazardous gas concentration from an exhaust duct of a gas turbine enclosure includes aggregating multiple exhaust air samples collected via a first and a second plurality of sampling ports disposed within the exhaust duct to provide first and second aggregated exhaust air samples to primary and secondary sensors disposed outside of the exhaust duct. The method further includes sensing hazardous gas concentrations within the first and second aggregated exhaust air samples, where the primary and secondary sensors communicate signals that are indicative of the hazardous gas concentrations and functionality of the primary and secondary sensors to a computing device. The method further includes monitoring the hazardous gas concentrations within the first and second aggregated exhaust air samples with respect to a percentage of a lower explosive limit and monitoring the functionality of the primary and secondary sensors via the computing device.

  • Patent number: 9103934
Abstract: A technique facilitates the acquisition of seismic data at a substantially reduced source volume. The methodology generally comprises conducting a seismic survey with seismic sources that have a reduced source volume to collect seismic data. The low frequency data which is lost due to the reduced source volume is replaced with data acquired from a complementary method, such as a receiver-side acquisition method. The two sets of data are combined to provide a comprehensive seismic survey image without requiring conventional seismic source volume.

  • Patent number: 9103284
Abstract: An approach for utilizing fuel gas to purge a dormant fuel gas circuit is disclosed. In one aspect, there is a fuel gas supply that supplies fuel to fuel gas circuits. Gas control valves, each coupled to one of the fuel gas circuits control the flow of fuel gas thereto from the fuel gas supply. A fuel purge system selectively purges fuel gas circuits from the fuel gas circuits that are dormant with fuel gas from the fuel gas supply.

  • Publication number: 20150217159
Abstract: A locking device for an exercise system may include at least one moveable assembly that is in communication with a resistance mechanism. The locking device has an actuating device for selectively engaging the locking device, a locking member having a contact portion, wherein the contact portion of the locking member is not in contact with the resistance mechanism of the exercise system when the actuating device is in a first position, thereby allowing movement of the at least one moveable assembly, and wherein the contact portion of the locking member is in contact with the resistance mechanism of the exercise system when the actuating device is in a second position, thereby preventing movement of the at least one moveable assembly.

  • Patent number: 9016967
Abstract: Applicators are described suitable for the application of liquid to patient's skin. An applicator pad (3) is supported on a support flange (23) of an applicator housing (2), which receives a liquid cartridge (5). To moderate the rush of liquid on to the back of the applicator pad a flow distributor plate (6) is positioned on the rear position of the pad (3), restricting flow onto the pad to an annular slit opening around the plate (6). The front surface of the plate (6), opposing the pad (3), may have one or more grooves so that liquid can flow from the edge towards the center. Also disclosed, as an alternative, is the use of a projecting cantilevered tongue structure to distribute liquid across the rear surface of the sponge pad. The pad may have a hooked lobe shape for a front end of the applicator pad.

  • Patent number: 9010584
Abstract: A pump dispenser is intended for oral administration of medicines. A pump receives fluid product through a valved inlet from a container, preferably of the airless type with a follower piston. The dispenser may be a movable-nozzle or fixed-nozzle dispenser. The discharge outlet of the dispenser has a stub nozzle incorporating a closure valve. A spring urges the closure valve forward to close a discharge opening of the stub nozzle. The nozzle attachment is shaped for oral dosing and has an internal rearwardly-projecting actuating structure which, when the nozzle attachment is coupled onto the stub nozzle, pushes the closure valve open. When the nozzle attachment is removed the spring closes the outlet again. Child-resistant features are described for fitting the nozzle attachment to the stub nozzle.

  • Publication number: 20150078801
Abstract: A surgical preparation applicator device has a pre-loaded container of surgical preparation liquid, the container having a front closure at its front end. The container is received in an applicator body which includes a tubular receiving structure, movable from an initial position to an open position whereby a cutter of the applicator body opens the front closure to allow liquid to flow forwardly to an applicator pad. The applicator body defines a flow path between the container and the applicator pad. The container has separate chambers containing different component liquids of the surgical preparation liquid. The chambers are separated by an internal wall and being side-by-side, each having a front opening at the front end of the container with the front closure closing off both front openings.
