  • Patent number: 7938297
Abstract: Certain pump dispensers, for example foam dispensers, are specially adapted for inverted use. One feature especially useful in a foam dispenser having both an air cylinder and a liquid cylinder with respective pistons is an intake conduit arrangement to increase the clearance of liquid from the container. An intermediate shell fits over the upright liquid cylinder body and carries an inlet valve positively urged upward to the closed position to prevent leaking. A conduit shell fits over the intermediate shell and creates an intake conduit extending down the side of the liquid cylinder to an intake opening lower down the pump body.

  • Publication number: 20110032795
Abstract: A technique facilitates the acquisition of seismic data at a substantially reduced source volume. The methodology generally comprises conducting a seismic survey with seismic sources that have a reduced source volume to collect seismic data. The low frequency data which is lost due to the reduced source volume is replaced with data acquired from a complementary method, such as a receiver-side acquisition method. The two sets of data are combined to provide a comprehensive seismic survey image without requiring conventional seismic source volume.

  • Patent number: 7876642
Abstract: The technologies described herein include systems and methods for encoding/decoding seismic sources and responses, generating and using of source-side derivatives while also generating and using the conventional source response. Sources in an array may be encoded such that activation of each source in the array constitutes a single spike in a sequence orthogonal to another sequence emitted by another source. The responses to these different sources that are in close spatial proximity can be decoded and separated. Source-side derivatives may be calculated and utilized in various applications in combination with the monopole response from the source location, including source-side deghosting, spatial (horizontal and vertical) interpolation and imaging.

  • Patent number: 7861532
Abstract: A method for operating an energy system includes calculating an auto-ignition temperature of a fuel in use with the energy system, storing the auto-ignition temperature in a system memory, unloading a gas turbine associated with the energy system to a pre-determined range of operations, controlling a temperature of the exhaust flow discharged from the gas turbine, opening an exhaust bypass damper to a pre-determined position to enable a pre-determined volume of air to enter an exhaust flow path defined within the energy system, and releasing the energy system for normal operation after a pre-determined amount of time has elapsed.

  • Publication number: 20100306332
Abstract: An information delivery system includes a web server in operative communication with a plurality of recipients and a plurality of senders, the plurality of senders desirous of generating messages intended for the plurality of recipients, respectively. The web server includes a plurality of recipient preference profiles corresponding to the plurality of recipients, respectively, and a plurality of sender profiles corresponding to the plurality of senders, respectively. Each of the recipient preference profiles includes respective information directed to the recipient's preferences for receiving messages and the web server provides the plurality of senders with access to the plurality of recipient preference profiles. The web server maintains a relationship between a log of recipient preference profiles out of the plurality of recipient preference profiles that have been accessed by a particular sender.

  • Publication number: 20100252356
Abstract: A method for attenuating out of band energy emitted from a seismic source used in a marine seismic survey. The method includes disposing the seismic source in a body of water and releasing a gas into a volume of water surrounding the seismic source. The released gas may be configured such that it displaces the volume of water surrounding the seismic source at a rate less than 2.9×106 cubic-meters per cubic-second.

  • Publication number: 20090297145
Abstract: A switch having two apertured plates one of which is movable relative to the other to occupy spaced switch positions, the apertures being arranged in the plates so that in each switch position two or more pairs of apertures are aligned and all others are masked, wherein light transmitted through a selected one of the two or more aligned aperture pairs in a particular switch position is visible through an external switch position indicating window to thereby provide an unambiguous indication that the movable plate is positively registered in the particular switch position.

  • Publication number: 20090212098
Abstract: Embodiments of an envelope that is reusable and allows for efficient rerouting between intended recipients of the item in the envelope are disclosed. The envelope may be constructed of a durable material and may have various features that allow the envelope to be automatically sent via a carrier from one recipient to another. Thus, when a recipient of the item returns the envelope via the carrier, the envelope can be correctly processed and forwarded on to the next recipient with the same item, without the need of sending the item back to a return center or other entity. The term envelope generally includes envelopes, mailers and packages. Embodiments may include an envelope that facilitates multiple sorting and delivery cycles by the delivery service without the need for reconfiguration, repair, or replacement of the envelope.

  • Patent number: 7500582
Abstract: A pump dispenser suitable for dispensing toothpaste in which a pump chamber has a resiliently flexible flap outlet valve leading into a discharge passage leading to a discharge nozzle. The discharge nozzle features a closure valve, in the form of a concave wall with radial slits, which opens only under appreciable forward pressure. When released, the closure valve closes and retracts forcibly, giving a clean cut-off of product and a degree of backflow via the large outlet valve area of the flap valve as it closes.

  • Patent number: 7412401
Abstract: An information system includes a plurality of messaging systems, a data center and a control system. The plurality of messaging systems process respective messages intended for recipients. The data center is in operative communication with the plurality of messaging systems and stores transaction data associated with each respective message. The control system is in operative communication with the data center. The control system identifies selected transaction data from among the transaction data corresponding to a defined recipient and uses the selected transaction data to generate a recipient profile of messages intended for the defined recipient that have been processed by the plurality of messaging systems.
