  • Publication number: 20170361079
Abstract: An applicator for a microprojection array is described. In one embodiment, the applicator comprises an energy-storing element. Application of force causes the compressed energy-storing element to extend or transition from first and second configurations, releasing stored energy to deploy a holding member in the application which is configured to hold an array of microprojections. In another embodiment, the applicator comprises an energy storing element with two stable configurations, a first stable configuration and second stable configuration. Application of force causes the energy-storing element to transition from the higher energy first stable configuration to the lower energy second stable configuration, releasing the difference in energies of the two states to deploy a holding member in the application which is configured to hold an array of microprojections.

  • Patent number: 9320526
Abstract: A punctum plug includes a proximal head, a shaft, and a distal body, and an axial bore. The head is defined by a flexible circular flange with a convex upper portion and a concave lower portion. The body defines a frustoconically tapered distal tip and a two wings that extend in an arc and taper in thickness. The wings can extend further radially than the flange of the head. A recessed groove is defined around the shaft extending between the wings and a wall structure connecting the winged portions of the body. The above structure permits one plug or fewer plugs to accommodate a broad patient population.

  • Publication number: 20160034008
Abstract: This invention relates generally to modular instrument chassis and more particularly to benchtop and rack mount modular instrument chassis that employ the PXI and PXIe standards. The present invention combines the benefits of the PXI/PXIe systems without the drawbacks that preclude PXI/PXIe systems from being used effectively in a deployable environment. Embodiments of the present invention enable PXI/PXIe systems to be deployed in a benchtop or rack mount deployable environment and enable front-to-back cooling, flexible I/O (front and back I/O panels), consistent I/O on front and back panels for reproducible and repeatable connections to external devices and for calibration requirements associated with such environments while maintaining the modularity benefits of PXI/PXIe and without sacrificing PXI/PXIe slots.
