  • Patent number: 6607341
Abstract: Apparatus for facilitating the installation of a modular cabinet assembly on a wall includes two adjustable height lifting and leveling assemblies each having a base portion positionable on the floor. An upper portion of each assembly has spaced structures useable for receiving sections of two elongated, horizontally spaced apart support members which extend parallel to one another and to the wall. With the assemblies in a horizontally spaced relationship with one another and secured to the wall, and a plurality of cabinet modules resting on top side portions of the support members, the modules are secured to one another, and the resulting assembly is leveled about axes perpendicular and parallel to the wall by using leveling portions of the assemblies to vary the heights of the support member sections disposed in the receiving sections. The leveled cabinet assembly is then anchored to the wall.

  • Patent number: 6384264
Abstract: Organic photoprecursors of amines are provided for use in photosensitive imaging systems, finding particular application in the preparation of lithographic printing plates. Said photoprecursors generate free amines on exposure to long wavelength UV or visible radiation, have high solubility in organic solvents, and include photolabile 2-nitrobenzyl functional groups. Methods for the synthesis of the photoprecursors are described, and the use of the said photoprecursors for the production of printing plates using both positive working and negative working techniques are discussed.

  • Patent number: 6159058
Abstract: A retractive suspension for a boat is provided whereby retractable wheels and associated struts and suspension may be retractably mounted within compartments which are open, or may be opened, outwardly of a hull of a boat. A front wheel assembly is housed retractably within the bow of the boat. An opposed pair of rear wheels are mounted within corresponding compartments on either side of the aft end of the hull. The wheels struts and suspension, both fore and aft, are selectively pivotable from a stowed position within the compartments or wheel wells to an extended and locked position extending outwardly of the boat hull from the wheel wells so as to support the boat on the wheels when on land. The struts and suspension are pivoted by means of threaded rod or spindle or elongate screw which is rotated to slide one end of an arm snugly mated within a corresponding slide such as a box beam.

  • Patent number: 4057508
Abstract: In europium-activated alkaline earth mixed halide x-ray phosphor compositions the addition of minor amounts of yttrium significantly reduces afterglow or persistance. A syngeristic effect upon the reduction of afterglow is observed when both yttrium and lithium additives are both included. Additions of other rare earths and alkali metals are not effective to reduce afterglow. The effective amount of Y is from about 0.001 to about 0.1 moles of yttrium per mole of host. When lithium is used in conjunction with yttrium, about 0.001 to about 0.1 moles of lithium per mole of host is used.
