  • Patent number: 4228135
Abstract: Apparatus for sterilizing laboratory and hospital glassware, liquids, instruments, garments, contaminated animal wastes and bedding and the like, utilizing a sterilizer enclosure having a steam jacket surrounding the same and a vertically movable front door closure, wherein the door is vertically slideable in a track and is substantially restrained from outward movement by restraining means only at its upper and lower end, and including expandable seal members surrounding the sterilizer opening and opposite the door. The seal comprises two discrete segments, an inflatable member for displacing the sealing member against the door in sealing relationship therewith, and a sealing member. The construction is designed for maximum safety and ease of operation at minimum cost.

  • Patent number: 4176989
Abstract: An auxiliary device for boring dowel holes in boards which are to be doweled together comprising a flat plate provided with a handle and having a centrally located guiding hole for guiding a boring tool, such as a drill, through the plate. Vertically projecting pegs are provided on each side of the flat plate to diametrically oppose the boring hole at equal distances therefrom, each peg being at the same height. One side of the flat plate is provided with a longitudinal slit in alignment directed radially toward the centrally located guiding hole. The narrow side of the board is placed at the rear of the flat plate with the pegs projecting downwardly to move the board between the pegs whereby the centrally located guiding hole is aligned at the center of the board in order that a dowel hole may be bored at the desired first location.

  • Patent number: 4164100
Abstract: An auxiliary device for facilitating re-grinding and sharpening of spiral drills used by a home or do-it-yourself amateur in conjunction with a conventional grinding machine mounted on a table and having a rotating grinding wheel or disk exposed on a horizontal shaft. The device comprises a fork-shaped bracket including means for clamping to the table. Grooves are provided in the upper surfaces of the forks for bearings which rest in these grooves and are aligned thereby. The device includes a swiveling part which is loosely held into the grooves to accomodate the drill workpiece which is to be reground. Axle journal members in the bearings provide the swiveling movement of the workpiece. The swiveling part is provided with a groove between the axle journal members into which the workpiece is inserted and this groove has a clearance below the axis of the axle journals and is directed slantingly toward the grinding surface or path of the grinding disc thereby providing the desired re-grinding angle.

  • Patent number: 4141542
Abstract: A clamping apparatus adapted to be clamped to a table top in a do-it-yourself home workshop comprising a C-shaped clamping element provided with a guiding ledge and an upwardly projecting stop, both of which serve to contact a workpiece at a right angle intersection of the ledge and stop. The apparatus is further provided with a U-shaped clamping element which, in conjunction with the C-shaped clamping element, serves to hold said workpiece in a desired fixed position. The U clamp comprises a U-shaped body portion and a threaded screw element with a centering head on one end thereof and a knob on the other end which engages a threaded aperture on one leg of the U clamp. A centrally located aperture in the upwardly projecting stop of the C clamp cooperates with the centering head to axially guide such centering head of the screw element of the U clamp to thereby encircle the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 4074736
Abstract: A milling gauge provided with slits and a guide piece for milling dovetail grooves into sheets or boards which are dovetailed together at right angles to each other. A milling cutter held by the guide piece is introduced into the slits of the gauge which is clamped with the board onto a work bench. The gauge has a body portion provided with counter guides for the guide piece. Two comb-like guide plates are formed in the body of the gauge and are oriented at right angles to each other thus giving the possibility to introduce the cutter in two different directions into the gauge body for cutting grooves in one board in its transversal direction and in another board in its longitudinal direction.
