  • Patent number: 11844080
Abstract: A radio network device is operative to transmit uplink data on a physical uplink shared channel aggregating two or more contiguous slots. The device is further operative to transmit, in addition to the uplink data, Uplink Control Information (UCI) in at least one of the aggregated slots. The UCI may comprise a HARQ ACK/NACK. The UCI is configured in response to Downlink Control Information (DCI) received from a serving network node. The DCI also includes a UL scheduling grant for the physical uplink channel. The UCI may be configured in the physical uplink channel transmission in a variety of ways. Various amounts of frequency resource (e.g., subcarriers) may be allocated to UCI. The subcarriers may be non-contiguous. In slot aggregation, the UCI subcarriers may frequency hop from slot to slot. The UCI may be encoded differently in different slots, to facilitate early decoding by a receiver (which may, for example immediately prepare a re-transmission in the case of a NACK).

  • Publication number: 20230396479
Abstract: A method, performed by a network node. The method is for determining modulation symbols. The network node includes a modulator based on Discrete-time Fourier Transform Spread (DFTS)-Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM). The network node determines modulation symbols to be input into the modulator. Of a first set of the modulation symbols corresponding to a duration of a DFTS-OFDM symbol, only a first subset of modulation symbols are set to first values of magnitude exceeding zero by a first threshold. The modulation symbols in the first subset are determined to have a first contiguity arrangement. The network node then initiates providing the determined modulation symbols to the modulator.

  • Patent number: 11838240
Abstract: A system and method to instruct a user equipment (UE) how Uplink Control Information (UCI) on a Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH) should be transmitted with carrier aggregation. A semi-static signaling of a UCI mapping bit (via a Radio Resource Control (RRC) parameter) is used by a base station such as an eNodeB to require the UE to transmit UCI using one of two pre-determined UCI transmission modes. The bit can be decided by the base station, considering, for example, the available bandwidth or quality of different Uplink Component Carriers (UL CCs) associated with the UE. This network-based solution allows the network to either configure a general rule of UCI transmission by the UE or to enforce the UCI transmission on the Uplink Primary cell (UL Pcell). Because of the rules governing abstracts, this abstract should not be used to construe the claims.
