  • Publication number: 20060265172
Abstract: A test system for a heterogeneous multipath network. A tester system evaluates a plurality of status indicators from a plurality of types of test components in a network. Based on the status indicators of at least one of the test components, the tester system selects a first test to be performed. After executing the first test, the tester system selects a second test to be performed based on the status indicators of at least one of the test components and a result of the first test.

  • Publication number: 20060089750
Abstract: A dual purpose media drive exchanges data with removable media items. The drive includes at least one port to receive various control signals, including (1) data exchange commands directing the drive to read and/or write data to a media item mounted by the drive, and (2) robotic device management commands. The drive includes a processor that responds to incoming data exchange commands by reading and/or writing to the loaded media item. The processor responds to at least some robotic device management signals by forwarding them to a robotic media transport device. The processor withholds the data exchange commands from the robotic device, since they are only pertinent to operations of the drive itself. The robotic device may be configured to restrict host access to library components according to predefined logical partitions.

  • Publication number: 20050193105
Abstract: One aspect of the invention is a method for processing network discovery data. An example of the method includes defining a plurality of network data aggregations. This example also includes assigning a current state value to at least one of the data aggregations. This example further includes, for at least one current state value, determining if the current state value is different than a corresponding prior state value. This example also includes merging data corresponding with at least one data aggregation determined to have a current state value that is different than a corresponding prior state value, with prior data corresponding with at least one data aggregation determined to have a current state value that is not different than a corresponding prior state value.

  • Publication number: 20050185597
Abstract: Disclosed is a technique for performing configuration checking of a network. A network data store is scanned for at least one transaction. At least one event is generated for said transaction. At least one configuration policy is associated with said event. Said configuration policy is compared with configuration data associated with said event. It is determined whether said configuration policy has been violated based on the comparison. Also disclosed is a technique for performing proactive configuration checking of a network. A hypothetical network scenario is received. At least one transaction is generated based on the hypothetical network scenario. A network data store is populated with configuration data for said transaction. At least one event is generated for said transaction using a mapping of events to transactions. Configuration data associated with said event is used to determine whether a configuration policy has been violated.

  • Publication number: 20050083854
Abstract: A system, method and computer program product for intelligent discovery of network information from multiple information gathering agents adapted to discover information concerning the network. The discovery agents each have an associated discovery capability. Based on consideration of the agent discovery capabilities, discovery assignments are computed and network discovery is performed according to the assignments so as to reduce discovery poll overhead.

  • Publication number: 20050050169
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are provided for communicating control messages between a first device and a second device. The apparatus, system, and method include a communication module that directs control messages between a first device and a second device through an intermediate device. The intermediate device is coupled to the first device by a control path and to the second device by a data path. The apparatus, system, and method also include a translation module and a transmission module that cooperate to translate control messages received over the control path at the intermediate device to transport data messages and transport data messages received over the data path at the second device to control messages. Transport data messages are sent over the data path to the second device and control messages from the second device are sent over the control path to the first device.

  • Patent number: 6164615
Abstract: A corrosion resistant machine foundation formed from precast corrosion resistant vertical panels of an aggregate filled thermosetting resin defining an enclosed hollow form, each of the two side edge portions of each vertical panel intersecting one of the two side edge portions of an adjacent vertical panel at a predetermined angle and forming therewith a corner of the enclosed hollow form; the hollow form defining at each of the corners a barrier extending across and spaced from the corner from one vertical panel to an adjacent vertical panel and from the bottom of the hollow form to a predetermined height less than the height of the two adjacent vertical panels to form a vertically extending chamber; a portion of the bottom of the vertically extending chambers and the hollow form being filled with a cementitious material within the area of the hollow form between all of the vertical panels and each of the barriers to the top of each barrier, and each of the vertically extending chambers and the remaining ar
