Patent number: 10650347Abstract: A labware inventory tracking and positioning device includes a plurality of labware carriers placed on the top surface of a deck. Each carrier has a permanent magnet therein or thereon. Below the deck, a cursor has a top part that is movable with respect to its bottom part. A permanent magnet, surrounded by a coil, is held in a compartment of the bottom part. Applying current through the coil in a first direction pushes up the cursor permanent magnet to push up the cursor top part into contact with the bottom of the deck, magnetically coupling one of the carrier magnets to the cursor magnet. Once so coupled, the carrier follows the X- and Y-direction movement of the cursor. Applying current in the opposite direction pulls the cursor permanent magnet down to decouple the cursor magnet from the carrier magnet.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2018Date of Patent: May 12, 2020Assignee: MDIP Licensing, LLCInventors: Robert Boyer, Brandon Boyer

Publication number: 20200042284Abstract: Augmented reality enables an operator to visualize values of parameters of audio channels during audio mixing. A heads-up display worn by the operator, such as smart glasses, displays virtual graphical objects representing the parameters so that they appear within a three-dimensional space surrounding the operator and an audio mixing console. Parameter values are represented by the location, size, and other attributes of the virtual graphical objects. The operator adjusts the parameter values using physical and touch controls on the console and by manipulating the virtual objects with a body part such as a finger. Sensors mounted on the heads-up display and on other body parts capture position and movement of the operator in real time and send the captured data to a system running augmented reality control software. Graphical user interfaces of a media processing application controlled by the console and of plug-in modules may also be displayed on the heads-up display.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 15, 2019Publication date: February 6, 2020Inventors: Steven H. Milne, Stephen Wilson, Edward Jones, Robert Boyer, David K. Magleby, Eduardo Dias Trama, Konstantine Baranov

Patent number: 10191607Abstract: A user-configurable modular audio control surface comprises master modules for controlling global surface properties and channel modules for controlling one or more individual audio channels. The modules are disposed in a two-dimensional spatial arrangement such that any module can occupy a location within the control surface not occupied by another module. The modules are connected to each other and to external platforms hosting media applications and plug-ins via a network. Control surface users can interact with external applications via remote graphical user interfaces displayed on modules within the surface, and can automate multiple external applications using an automation system built into the surface. Automation line graphs and metadata for both internal and external applications are displayed over the corresponding waveform displays that can include audio ahead of a current playback location.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 2013Date of Patent: January 29, 2019Assignee: Avid Technology, Inc.Inventors: Steven H. Publication number: 20180311110Abstract: A system for medication delivery comprises a Package containing a medication and a Dosing mechanism for delivering a dose of a drug, formulated as multiparticulate, microspheres, powder or liquid. The Package comprises a bottle, a bottle insert that covers the bottle opening and includes a dispense nozzle. The dispense nozzle is sealed using a valve that opens when the Dosing device is engaged with the bottle. A closure covers the bottle insert and closes the bottle. The Dosing device, similar to an oral syringe, comprises a barrel with a valve at its distal end, a plunger and a dose control clip for attachment to the plunger. After the dosing device is connected to the bottle valve, withdrawal of the plunger causes the dosing device to receive a dose of drug, the user pushes the plunger which pushes the MP drug through the valve and into a patient's mouth.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 1, 2018Publication date: November 1, 2018Inventors: MICHAEL VINCENT QUINN, ALEXANDER GORSHKOV, RICHARD CRONENBERG, TOR ALDEN, ROBERT BOYER
