  • Publication number: 20120184120
Abstract: An interface protocol for patient monitoring systems includes a Dual Serial Bus (DSB) interface. The DSB interface includes a first serial protocol that is USB, Firewire, or Ethernet protocol and a second serial protocol that is a low power serial (LPS) protocol. DSB interfaces provide for communication between DSB Hosts and DSB Devices and allow for the transfer of operating and battery charging power from DSB Host to DSB Device. In addition, the DSB host contains a switched Auxiliary Voltage Supply (AVS) which can provide up to 15 W of power to DSB devices for battery charging or other high power needs. The DSB interface eliminates the need for multiple cables for different parameter sensing devices as there is only one type of connector and, accordingly, reduces the risk of damage caused by inadvertently plugging a parameter sensing device into the wrong receptacle.

  • Publication number: 20110283913
Abstract: A novel zip-line construction capable of three-dimensional movement is disclosed. The zip-line construction generally comprises a single or dual cable member having two ends, a trolley assembly having the ability to traverse a desired distance along the cable member and at least one device capable of attaching the cable member to a separate fixed body. The zip-line of the invention expands movement of the traditional zip-line from two-dimensional movement to three-dimensional movement, thereby advantageously providing a longer and more thrilling ride experience.

  • Publication number: 20110088793
Abstract: A gas pressure regulator for use with gas delivery systems is provided. The gas pressure regulator includes, in one form, an inlet with an entry portion and a bottom portion. A pocket is disposed proximate the bottom portion of the inlet, and a cavity is disposed within a central portion of the gas pressure regulator. A guide is disposed within a lower portion of the cavity, and a flow of gas through the gas pressure regulator extends through the inlet, changes direction to flow through the cavity, and the flow of gas changes direction to impact the guide prior to flowing through the cavity. The pocket and the guide reduce the amount of particles capable of reaching internal components of the gas pressure regulator, resulting in low sensitivity and high fault tolerance to ignited particles coming through the gas pressure regulator in the event of accidental particle contamination.

  • Patent number: 7681944
Abstract: A panel assembly for covering and uncovering an opening in a vehicle includes a guide rail extending longitudinally therealong. A panel extends between front and rear edges and is movable relative to the guide rail. A guide mechanism is slidably coupled to the guide rail. A carrier bracket is fixedly secured to the panel and slidably coupled to the guide mechanism. A latch is operatively coupled to the panel and slidably coupled to the guide rail. The latch is operable between a locked position preventing longitudinal movement of the panel and an unlocked position allowing longitudinal movement of the panel. A motor drives the guide mechanism forward along the guide rail moving the panel from a close position to a venting position, and rearward along the guide rail actuating the latch to the unlocked position and moving the panel from the close position to an open position.

  • Patent number: 7134447
Abstract: A gas pressure regulator has an inlet for connection to an upstream gas line for flow of gas into the regulator under pressure and an outlet for connection to a downstream gas line for flow of gas out of the regulator at a reduced pressure. A pilot mechanism delivers a desired pilot gas pressure through a pilot passage. A main valve mechanism regulates the flow of gas through a main flow passage connecting the inlet and outlet of the regulator. The regulator has a piston chamber, and a piston operatively connected to the main valve mechanism and movable in the piston chamber. The main valve mechanism has a passageway between the piston chamber and the pilot passage whereby the pilot gas pressure is adapted to move the piston and thereby position the main valve mechanism to regulate the gas pressure at the outlet of the regulator.
