  • Patent number: 8679564
Abstract: Aspects of the present invention are directed to methods for manufacturing shaped, comestible articles. Multiple comestible articles are connected by flash, and stress lines in the flash surround the articles. The comestible articles are subsequently separated from the flash at the stress lines. Additional aspects of the present invention are directed to an intermediate comestible product. In certain embodiments, the intermediate comestible product comprises multiple articles, web-like flash connecting the articles, and stress lines formed in the flash and about each article.

  • Patent number: 8485505
Abstract: A wheel suspension is described with a wheel-guiding McPherson strut unit which has a helical compression support spring, a shock absorber which is connected on one end to the body and on the other end to the wheel, and a suspension arm, the helical compression spring being made such that the helical compression spring at least partially compensates for transverse forces which occur on the shock absorber without the action of the helical compression spring. To enable the weight of the helical compression spring to be reduced, the helical compression spring is constructed and arranged so that the stress in the spring is at least approximately, preferably exactly, the same on the side of the spring center line or line of action of the spring force facing the wheel as on the side facing away from the wheel. This makes it possible to reduce the weight throughout by roughly 10%.

  • Publication number: 20130045063
Abstract: A corrugated-typed fastener configured to couple a first substrate to a second substrate includes a bridge and a plurality of ribs, the ribs having a plurality of flutes. The flutes, and possibly the ribs, may be angled inwardly to form an apex disposed within the width of the fastener and pointing towards a center of the fastener. The ribs may extend outward from the bridge towards opposing ends of the fastener, and the ends may be at a different height than the bridge when viewing the fastener from the side. Alternatively, the ends may be at the same height as the bridge and also may be generally centered on the height of the fastener.

  • Patent number: 7820434
Abstract: A novel apparatus and device is described for reconstituting a bone sample with a biological fluid, such as concentrated plasma or saline solutions, for example, prior to surgical implantation into a patient. In particular, the invention comprises, in certain aspects, a container in which a bone sample may be reconstituted with the desired fluid by applying a vacuum within the container, thereby driving the fluid into the bone for complete, or near complete, permeation of the fluid into the interstices of the bone sample prior to surgical implantation.

  • Patent number: 7438292
Abstract: A board game has a plurality of game pieces and pair of dice. A method is disclosed for playing a plurality of games one a game board that includes a plurality of playing surfaces. The surfaces have intersecting columns and rows defining nine spots. One of the surfaces is on a top side of the board and a second surface is on a bottom side thereof. Players roll dice to determine who goes first. The dice have six sides numbered zero through five. Play continues until one player aligns three of their game pieces in a row, or the entire chosen surface is covered with game pieces. If neither player has three pieces aligned in a row, the player having the most pieces on the surface wins and gets to start the next game. Each of the players accumulates points during each round of play until one reaches a predetermined point total.

  • Publication number: 20070214679
Abstract: A thermal impingement apparatus quickly heats or cools food products and other items carried on an air permeable conveyor. A first air return chamber is spaced above the conveyor and a second return chamber is spaced beneath the conveyor, the return chambers having walls toward the conveyor that include a plurality of holes of a given dimension. A first plenum is opposite the first return chamber from the conveyor and a second plenum is opposite the second return chamber from the conveyor. A plurality of impingement nozzles extend from the plenums through the return chamber holes toward the conveyor. The cross-sections of the nozzles are smaller than the holes, creating return openings between the nozzles and the hole edges. An air conveyance means forces heated or cooled air from the plenums through the nozzles toward the conveyor and return air through the air return openings back to the plenums.

  • Publication number: 20050241413
Abstract: A method and apparatus for fluid flow straightening and measurement introduces a high beta nozzle or venturi in-line with existing conduit. A fluid velocity measuring device is positioned in the throat of the high beta nozzle and measurements of velocity at multiple points in a plane perpendicular to the direction of fluid flow are taken. The velocity data points are then averaged and produce an output signal from which fluid flow rate can be determined.
