  • Publication number: 20220255421
Abstract: A switch mode power supply includes a bootstrap circuit, control circuits, and an auxiliary winding coupled to the bootstrap circuit and configured to supply power to the control circuits after startup of the power supply. The bootstrap circuit is configured to supply power to the control circuits during startup and includes an isolation circuit to limit current flow between the starting capacitor and the control circuits while the starting capacitor is charged to a starting voltage by the high voltage input. During the initial charge of the starting capacitor, the control circuits do not have power to provide the initial functionality of the power supply. Once the starting capacitor is charged to the starting voltage, the isolation circuit is activated to allow current flow that powers the control circuits during the remainder of the startup until the auxiliary winding is able to power the control circuits.

Abstract: A well tool may include a slip disposed about a mandrel and a plurality of individual wedge sections axially arranged adjacent one another between the mandrel and the slip. In at least one example, a gap is defined between adjacent wedge sections allowing a range of axial movement of one wedge section toward the other. A compliant member is disposed between the adjacent wedge sections resisting movement of the one toward the other. The compliant members may have different sizes and configurations to selectively yield at different axial loads, so that the wedge sections progressively load the slip.

  • Publication number: 20220253224
Abstract: A memory device configured to descramble scrambled composite data. In one approach, the scrambled composite data is provided by an XOR (exclusive OR operation) of more than one data set scrambled with non-linear scramblers. A memory device is configured to receive scramble codes generated by non-linear scramblers and perform an XOR of the scrambled composite data with the scramble codes to remove scrambling from the composite data. In one example, the scrambled data sets are data to be written to a NAND device at more than one bit per cell density (e.g., MLC, TLC, QLC, PLC, etc.). For example, the scrambled data sets may be written to the NAND device in more than one programming pass. In one example, the scrambled composite data is used to read the scrambled data sets that have been written in a first programming pass.

  • Publication number: 20220251455
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to two improved catalysts and associated processes that directly convert carbon dioxide and hydrogen to liquid fuels. A catalytic system comprises two catalysts in series that are operated in tandem to directly produce synthetic liquid fuels. The carbon conversion efficiency for CO2 to liquid fuels is greater than 45%. The fuel is distilled into a premium diesel fuels (approximately 70 volume %) and naphtha (approximately 30 volume %) which are used directly as “drop-in” fuels without requiring any further processing. Any light hydrocarbons that are present with the carbon dioxide are also converted directly to fuels. This process is directly applicable to the conversion of CO2 collected from ethanol plants, cement plants, power plants, biogas, carbon dioxide/hydrocarbon mixtures from secondary oil recovery, and other carbon dioxide/hydrocarbon streams.
