  • Patent number: 10680341
Abstract: Optimizations are provided in the design and fabrication of a parabolic antenna reflector. In particular, a parabolic antenna reflector comprises an inner reflective face being formed in a parabolic shape and a first outer circumferential portion. The parabolic antenna also includes an outer face being formed in a different parabolic shape and a second circumferential portion. The first outer circumferential portion is coupled to the second outer circumferential portion to form an inner body between the inner reflective face and the outer face. This inner body includes a monopulse comparator waveguide. As a result, the monopulse comparator waveguide is embedded between the inner reflective face and the outer face. In some instances, this waveguide includes one or more bends. Additionally, in some instances, the parabolic antenna reflector is fabricated using additive manufacturing techniques such that the parabolic antenna reflector is a single printed unit.

  • Patent number: 10585984
Abstract: A technique of improving input text processing in a data processing system that answers questions includes receiving a question from a user. The question has associated supporting original input text that is utilized in answering the question. Corrective measures are applied to the supporting original input text to create supporting revised input text. The supporting revised input text documents corrective measures applied to the supporting original input text. An answer to the question is generated based on, at least in part, the supporting revised input text. The supporting original input text is recreated from the supporting revised input text based on the documented corrective measures in the supporting revised input text subsequent to generating the answer. Data is stored for a first virtual disk that represents data in a first format and metadata for the first virtual disk in a common data format in a storage having a fixed block length. A virtual disk file represents data in a second format that allows variable size blocks. Multiple instances of the fixed block length of blocks of data for the second virtual disk indicated in the virtual disk file are read. Each instance of the read fixed block length of blocks is written to the storage in the common data format with metadata describing the format of the blocks in the second virtual disk, and can be restored to a third virtual disk in the first or second format.
