    Abstract: A MEM's reed switch array is provided having a first switch having a sensitivity causing the first switch to open or close due to a magnetic flux, and a second switch of lesser sensitivity than the first switch causing the second switch to open or close due to a magnetic flux. The first switch can be parallel to the second switch, or the first switch can be proximate to the second switch so that a center line of the first switch is coaxial to a center line of the second switch. Further, a security device for residential and/or commercial use is provided, having a magnet housing having a magnet, a switch housing having a MEM's reed switch array with a first switch and a second switch, and a gap between the magnet housing and the switch housing.

A processor adjusts an angle of an element of the MEMS mirror array by varying a control signal, or by switching from one to another focusing element. The method includes detection in a volume of space by positioning a MEMS mirror array to reflect IR signal with respect to active elements of an IR detector; and collecting IR energy from an ith portion of the FOV.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for a security device for residential and/or commercial use. A first magnetic member has a first magnet with a north and south pole, and a second magnetic member has a second magnet with a south and north pole. Contact between the north pole of the first magnet and south pole of the second magnet, or vice versa, completes an electrical circuit by conducting electricity between the first and second magnets, and a magnetic force between the first and second magnets holds the first and second magnets in contact. The electrical circuit is broken when a force sufficient to overcome the magnetic force is applied to separate the first and second magnets. When contact between the first magnet and second magnet is broken off, such as by opening a door or window, the electrical circuit is broken, and an alarm is triggered.

    Abstract: A tamper detection switch is primarily for use in an enclosure of a security system component. The enclosure has a base and a cover that may be repositioned relative to the base. One of the cover and the base holds a conductive magnetic element free to translate within a predetermined range generally perpendicular to the respective cover or base. The other of the cover and the base holds at least two ferrous metal contacts of an open tamper circuit in proximity of a conductive magnetic element. In the closed position the conductive magnetic element bridges the ferrous contacts and closes the tamper circuit. Attempts to tamper with the enclosure separate the ferrous contacts from the conductive magnetic element, opening the tamper circuit and signaling a possible attack.

    Abstract: The present invention is directed to a nitric gas dispenser for mammals on the run. The dispenser has a housing that contains a valve mechanism. The valve mechanism is interconnected between a nitric gas dispersal component that provides nitric gas at a desired pressure and a gas delivery system that provides the nitric gas at the desired pressure to the mammal. The valve mechanism controls the flow of the nitric gas between the nitric gas dispersal component and the gas delivery system. The dispenser also has a pressure sensor that is positioned along the gas delivery system and determines when the mammal is taking a breadth. If the pressure sensor determines the mammal is taking a breadth, the pressure sensor transmits a breadth signal to a microprocessor. The microprocessor then determines if the mammal is within a prescribed time frame for the mammal to be administered nitric gas.

    Abstract: An electronic electricity meter which, in one embodiment, includes a modem board, or unit, coupled to the meter microcomputer and exchanges information between the meter and a central computer is described. Using signals supplied by the meter microcomputer and the central computer, the modem unit microcomputer can determine whether to exchange information between the meter and the central computer and the proper time at which the information should be exchanged. In an exemplary embodiment, the modem unit detects various conditions within the meter and responds by exchanging information with the central computer at a proper, or pre-defined, time. The modem unit has two different basic modes, or states, of operation. These states of operation are sometimes referred to as the call originate mode and the call answer mode. Call originate refers to the mode of the unit when a condition occurs in meter 10 and information is being transmitted to the central computer from the modem unit utilizing a telephone line.

    Abstract: A lighting project or device has a housing having multiple adjacent sides and a front, the housing being enclosed at least between par lamp and the diffusion element. Multiple par lights are mounted to a frame and positioned to send light out the front of the device. The box also has a diffusion element (frame) disposed proximate its front end, and even may have multiple elements preferably spaced apart. The element or elements receive the light from the par lighting instruments and diffuse it to provide a soft projected light from the device. In accordance with one aspect of the invention, this light may be used to provide diffused light as part of the key lighting for a stage or set, and may provide such soft projected lighting from a front (downstage) of the stage or set. The frame also supports the housing. The frame may be rectangular. The device may also have a soft shell, may hang overhead, on a stand or by a rotatable yoke, and may have lights fixed therein. The device may also have a rear cover.
