    Abstract: A method and apparatus of generating a modified segmented structure is disclosed. This modified segmented structure subtracts pixels or voxels in an inward direction from the segmented structure to create a smaller volume or area than the segmented structure. Analysis of the smaller volume can be useful in generating custom volumes, which can then be processed to improve visualization inside the custom volume.

    Abstract: This patent provides a method and apparatus to improve image analysis for a user viewing an image comprising multiple structures on a display. An eye tracking system is set up for a user viewing the image on a display, such as using an eye facing camera. An analysis of the eye tracking data and a structure that is being viewed is performed. An image analysis tool, such as an image manipulation tool, an image measurement tool or an image annotation tool, is predicted from a group of image analysis tools and is presented to the user. The user can then use the predicted tool as the user sees fit, such as executing the capabilities of the tool via a mouse.

The radiologist generates a report that associates terminology and weighting with marked 3D image volumes. The report is used to update the training dataset.

In this patent, a list of possible views is generated. For each possible view includes a viewing position and viewing angle. For each possible view, rendering of a 3D dataset is performed to generate a corresponding preemptively rendered image for said each possible view. Each possible view and corresponding preemptively rendered image are stored. A head display unit's position and orientation are tracked and at a time epoch when said head display unit's position and orientation correspond to a possible view in said list of possible views, the corresponding preemptively rendered image is displayed.
