  • Publication number: 20160273363
Abstract: An engine component for a gas turbine engine includes a film-cooled substrate having a hot surface facing hot combustion gas and a cooling surface facing a cooling fluid flow. The substrate includes one or more film holes that have a metering section defining a metering diameter and a diffusing section that defines a hooded length.

  • Publication number: 20160201476
Abstract: An airfoil for a turbine engine includes a cooling cavity and a cooling fluid supply cavity which supplies cooling fluid to the cooling cavity through a passage. The cooling cavity can be provided with a swirl feature for imparting a swirling motion to the cooling fluid.

  • Publication number: 20150159871
Abstract: A gas turbine engine wall is provided. The wall includes an inner surface and an opposing outer surface having at least one film cooling hole defined therein. The at least one film cooling hole includes an inclined inlet bore that extends from the inner surface and a pair of channels that diverge laterally from an outlet end of the inclined inlet bore. The pair of channels have a substantially constant width and are separated by a ridge to form a boomerang cross-sectional shape.

  • Publication number: 20090048121
Abstract: The invention relates to screening methods and test systems for the in vitro diagnosis and detection of an increased risk of vasospasm in a patient. In addition, the invention describes the use of GAPDH and/or Hsc70 to diagnose an increased risk of vasospasm. Also described is a method for identifying a pharmaceutically active substance for the prevention and/or treatment of cerebral vasospasm and a method for screening a substance library to identify a pharmaceutically active substance for the prevention and/or treatment of cerebral vasospasm. Pharmaceutically active substances and combination preparations are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20060272911
Abstract: A strut and jounce bumper assembly is provided including a rate cup and jounce bumper that are capable of moving with the strut rod wherein the rate cup is provided with a concave spherical upper surface that engages a convex spherical surface of a strut mount bottom plate. The design allows use of a larger jounce bumper and striker in applications where the strut rod has large angular travel.

  • Publication number: 20060183558
Abstract: A flexible driveline coupling is provided for interconnecting two rotational elements and includes an insert including a plurality of spaced mount portions that is overmolded with a second material such as microcellular urethane that provides improved torsional vibration isolation as well as reduced peak loads transmitted between the rotational elements. In addition, the design provides for reduced mass, reduced cost, and reduced noise transmission.

  • Publication number: 20050210603
Abstract: A suspension system for use in a laundry washing machine to suspend a tub assembly from a base portion of a cabinet. The suspension system includes a support frame interconnected to an outer tub of the tub assembly and an isolation damper assembly for resiliently coupling the support frame to the base portion of the cabinet. The isolation damper assembly functions to allow limited lateral movement of the tub assembly relative to the cabinet while also providing a “return to center” feature. The isolation damper assembly is further operable to prevent rotation of the outer tub relative to the cabinet. Finally, the isolation damper assembly functions to absorb the vibration transmitted through the tub assembly to the support frame so as to minimize transmission of such vibration to the cabinet.
