  • Publication number: 20090089574
Abstract: A system, method and program product for transferring data between a first computer and a second computer. A first request to start a session is received. An encrypted hash value in the first request is decrypted and a hash value for the information in the first request is independently determined. The independently determined hash value is compared to the decrypted hash value, and if there is match, a session with the first computer is started. Subsequently, a second request is received and the encrypted hash value in the second request is decrypted. A hash value for the information in the second request is independently determined. The independently determined hash value is compared to the decrypted hash value, and if there is match, the second computer processes a request to at least partially download or upload a file.

  • Publication number: 20090071784
Abstract: A torque converter-mounted generator is provided that, along with power electronics, offers at least two types of electrical power output and may be attached to a transmission without impacting the axial length of a powertrain in comparison to a powertrain with an identical transmission and a torque converter not having a generator mounted thereto. Different torque-converter mounted generators and power electronics configurations providing different combinations of electrical power voltages may be offered for use with a given transmission type, thus allowing flexibility in meeting customer needs without unduly impacting assembly of the powertrains. A method of assembling transmissions is also provided.

  • Patent number: 7487353
Abstract: A method for transferring data between a first computer and a second computer is provided. The first computer sends a request to start a session, an encrypted session ID, and an encrypted hash value to the second computer. The second computer receives the request, decrypts the encrypted hash value, independently determines a hash value and compares the independently determined value to the decrypted value. If they match, the second computer starts a session with the first computer. Subsequently, the first computer sends a request to download or upload data, an encrypted ID, an identity of the file, and an encrypted hash value to the second computer in a second connection in the session. The second computer receives the request, decrypts the encrypted hash value, independently determines a hash value and compares the independently determined value to the decrypted value. If they match, the second computer processes the request.

  • Publication number: 20080147876
Abstract: System, method and program for managing download of a file. A current request to establish a session is received. In the session, there is a request to download the file beginning at a specified location after a start of the file. The current request does not specify a fixed length of the requested download. A length of the file to be downloaded is estimated based on prior requests to download the file beginning at other respective locations. In response to the current request, the estimated length of the file is downloaded beginning at the specified location. In response to downloading the estimated length of the file beginning at the specified location, the download of the file is suspended for a time window. If the session corresponding to the current request is not terminated within the time window, then download of the file is automatically resumed following the length in further response to the current request.

  • Publication number: 20080001416
Abstract: Bumper assemblies for vehicles include multiple spaced apart layers formed of a polymeric material. In one embodiment, the polymeric layers are arranged such that a thickness gradation of the layers exists, wherein the thinnest layers are positioned to provide (and absorb a portion of the kinetic energy associated therewith) the initial impact surface. In another embodiment, the polymeric layers are arranged such that a modulus property gradation of the layers exists, wherein the layers having the lowest modulus property are positioned to provide the initial impact surface. Since the bumper assembly is formed of polymeric materials, the resulting mass is approximately one half that of a conventional bumper assembly. Moreover, the polymeric bumper assembly can be easily extruded and is recyclable.

  • Patent number: 7314368
Abstract: An injection molding apparatus for injecting resin into a mold comprises an injection cylinder in fluid communication with the mold, wherein movement of a piston relative to the cylinder injects a selected quantity of resin into the mold. A plasticizing unit includes a flighted screw rotating in a heated containment barrel for plasticizing resin. The plasticizing unit is in fluid communication with the injection cylinder for supplying the injection cylinder with plasticized resin. A valve is provided for selectively placing the injection cylinder in fluid communication with the mold and placing the plasticizing unit in fluid communication with the injection cylinder, wherein the valve exerts pressure on resin in the mold independently of the injection cylinder or plasticizing unit. The valve is actuated by relative movement between the mold and one of the injection cylinder and the plasticizing unit.

  • Patent number: 7280631
Abstract: Configurations for stationary imaging systems are provided. The configurations may include combinations of various types of distributed sources of X-ray radiation, which generally include addressable emitter elements which may be triggered for emission in desired sequences and combinations. The sources may be ring-like, partial ring-like, or line-like (typically along a Z-axis), and so forth. Combinations of these are envisaged. Corresponding detectors may also be full ring detectors or partial ring detectors associated with the sources to provide sufficient coverage of imaging volumes and to provide the desired mathematical completeness of the collected data.

  • Publication number: 20060159595
Abstract: An olefin polymerization process and apparatus wherein a fluid slurry comprising monomer, diluent and catalyst is circulated in a continuous loop reactor by two or more pumps. The process and apparatus allow operating the reaction at significantly higher solids content in the circulating fluid slurry. In a preferred embodiment, the fluid slurry is circulated by two impellers arranged so that the downstream impeller benefits from the rotational energy imparted by the upstream impeller. An olefin polymerization process operating at higher reactor solids by virtue of more aggressive circulation has improved efficiencies, particularly in larger-volume reactors.
