  • Publication number: 20060069514
Abstract: Methods of organizing medical data can include hierarchically relating a single type of medical or research event to medical data generated from the single type of medical or research event in a computer database environment. Organizing the data in this way may enable a researcher to access medical data collected as part of a medical procedure performed on a large number of patients, but at different times. For example, the medical data may be viewed in a more hierarchical fashion, thereby enabling the researcher to further investigate potential relationships between other factors. Related systems, computer program products and data structures are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20060070127
Abstract: Methods, data structures, systems and computer program products are provided for organizing security data. A triggering security event is hierarchically related to at least one additional security event based on a possible relationship between the triggering security event and the at least one additional security event in a computer database environment.

  • Publication number: 20050059656
Abstract: Compositions and methods used for preventing mitochondrial component-based diseases are disclosed herein. In particular, heterocyclic compositions and methods that are directed toward protecting against changes in mitochondrial permeability transition that could result in cell death.

  • Patent number: 6416753
Abstract: Methods for modulating programmed cell death are provided. Apoptosis, induced by a variety of stimuli, can be inhibited by blocking IL-1&bgr; binding to its type-1 receptor. Additionally, IL-1&bgr; had anti-apoptotic activity when added exogenously prior to exposure to apoptotic stimuli. ICE cleavage of pro-IL-1&bgr; is an important step in apoptosis, and mature IL-1&bgr; may function as a positive or negative mediator of cell death.
