  • Publication number: 20230370458
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are described for auto-configuring a network communication port such as an Ethernet port to which a network device is connected in a manner that eliminates or otherwise dramatically mitigates the manual effort required for port configuration, while at the same time, ensuring that network security is maintained by authenticating the device during the auto-configuration process. Various auto-configuration processes are described that include varying levels of verification processing to ensure that the network device connected to the port to be configured is a device that is authorized to connect to the network. In this manner, the threat of device spoofing is eliminated or otherwise substantially reduced. Auto-configuration of network ports in connection with switching a known network device to a new port or connecting a previously unknown network device to a network port are described.

  • Publication number: 20230318910
Abstract: A system for facilitating auto-formation of link aggregations is provided. During operation, the system can obtain information associated with connectivity between a first device and a second device. The system can remotely provide network configurations to the first and second devices via a network. If the connectivity includes a plurality of links, the system can identify a subset of links of the plurality of links that can be configured as a Link Aggregation Group (LAG) based on a set of grouping criteria for selecting a respective link for the LAG. The system can then generate respective configuration commands executable at the first and second devices for generating the LAG based on the information associated with connectivity. Subsequently, the system can send the respective configuration commands to the first and second devices. The configuration commands can facilitate the formation of the LAG at the first and second devices.

  • Patent number: 11627049
Abstract: A method of authenticating a device management system of a cloud-managed network includes transmitting a first transmission signal, from an access point, to a secondary port of the device management system. The first transmission signal comprises a first request of the access point to connect to the cloud-managed network. When the access point is incompatible with the cloud-managed network, the access point receives a re-direction instruction from the device management system to redirect the access point to a predefined Internet address to provide compatibility data for the access point. The method further includes that in response to receiving the compatibility data, transmitting a second transmission signal to the secondary port that includes a second request to connect to the cloud-managed network. The method include that in response to authentication by the access point, receiving an instruction from the secondary port to connect via a primary port to the cloud-managed network.

  • Patent number: 11381971
Abstract: A method of authorizing an access point includes receiving a first transmission signal from a first access point. The first transmission signal comprises identifying information of the first access point that includes a first token. The method includes receiving a second transmission signal from a client device. The second transmission signal includes a second token that is received by the client device from an un-provisioned access point. When a match is determined between the first token and the second token, the first access point is identified as the un-provisioned access point. The method includes transmitting the identifying information of the first access point and a request to the client device to authorize the un-provisioned access point. The method includes receiving a third transmission signal from the client device that includes an authorization verification of the un-provisioned access point that authorities the un-provisioned access point to connect to a cloud-managed network.

  • Publication number: 20210271954
Abstract: A counter for counting objects placed therethrough into a collecting device is provided. The counter comprises a holding structure having an opening disposed therein. The opening is adapted for enabling placement of the objects therethrough into the collecting device. A counting device is mounted to the holding structure in proximity to the opening such that the counting device advances a count of the objects by one when one of the objects is moved through the opening.

  • Patent number: 11050612
Abstract: A network management system may receive, via a wide area network (WAN), a request to register a pending network device with an entity. The network management system may, in response to receiving the request to register the pending network device with the entity, determine whether the pending network device is able to communicate, via a local area network (LAN) associated with the entity, with a registered network device that is already registered with the entity. The network management system may, in response to at least determining that the pending network device is able to communicate via the LAN with the registered network device, register the pending network device with the entity.

  • Patent number: 9479826
Abstract: A system has a first transmitter for transmitting a first wireless signal within a first frequency. A second transmitter is for transmitting a second wireless signal with overlapping frequency. The first transmitter and the second transmitter are disposed sufficiently proximate to another such that the wireless signals substantially interfere resulting in a combined wireless signal with negative SNR for each of the first wireless signal and the second wireless signal, the negative SNR being a result of at least the other of the first wireless signal and the second wireless signal. A receiver is located for receiving a received wireless signal comprising substantially interfering encoded data signals having negative SNR. The receiver is for selecting from the substantially interfering encoded data signals a signal of interest and for decoding said signal of interest relative to at least the other substantially interfering data signal within the received wireless signal.

  • Patent number: 9205314
Abstract: A system for a player to play golf includes a member having a surface. A colored area is disposed on the surface of the member, the colored area is yellow which when stared at will produce a violet afterimage. The member or a printed representation thereof is placed on and article of wearing apparel worn by the player so that the player can see the colored area. Prior to hitting a golf ball, the player stares at the colored area for a few seconds, closes his/her eyes and sees the violet afterimage, then opens his/her eyes. The player then hits the golf ball.

  • Patent number: 8481602
Abstract: My process does not convert natural gas into compressed natural gas, does not convert natural gas into liquified natural gas but uses 2 new chemical formulas to convert natural gas into synthetic gasolines or into synthetic diesels. After producing CO through a technology of partial combustion , my process improves Fischer-Tropsch process using CH4 instead of H2, following 2 new chemical equations and adding salt, NaCl, to an iron, FeO, catalyst or to any other catalyst capable of generating hydrocarbons. Instead of producing a large variety of synthetic hydrocarbons like other processes do, my process delivers only synthetic gasolines following 5 CH4+2 CO=C7H16+2 H2O or only synthetic diesels following 11 CH4+5 CO=C16H34+5 H2O thanks to the addition of salt to an iron catalyst or to any other catalyst. No oil refining needed. Because natural gas is the cleanest hydrocarbon, my process produces clean synthetic gasolines or clean synthetic diesels.

  • Patent number: 8246042
Abstract: A method of calibrating stack height sensing in a media stack height monitoring system in an image forming machine includes sensing the angular position of a pick mechanism arm, generating electrical signals having levels correlated to the pick mechanism arm angular positions that correspond to different stack height levels, measuring and storing at least one value corresponding to the level of the electrical signal at least at one of two calibration points: “full load” and “stack out” conditions of the media stack, estimating either the amount or percent of media sheets remaining in the media stack corresponding to measured and stored value of the electrical signal level at the at least one calibration point, and indicating either of the amount or percent of media sheets remaining in the media stack.

  • Patent number: 8246041
Abstract: A system and method for monitoring media stack height utilizes a pick mechanism and stack height sensing mechanism. The pick mechanism has a pick arm and a pick roller, the arm rotatably mounted at one end to pivot about an axis and change its angular position relative thereto. The roller rotatably mounted to an opposite end of the arm contacts a media stack top and is rotatably driven to feed sheets one at a time from the stack top changing the stack height. The angular position of the arm relative to the stack changes as the stack height changes. The stack height sensing mechanism arranged on and adjacent to the arm senses arm angular displacement as the stack height changes to provide an indication of the sheet quantity remaining in the stack. A method for calibrating stack height sensing of the monitoring system provides one or more calibration points such as at “full stack” and “stack out” conditions.
