  • Patent number: 7058306
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a laser communication transmitter and receiver for wireless optical communication. The laser communication transmitter uses a small diameter so correspondingly divergent beam to provide improved bit error rates. A laser communication receiver includes a diffractive optical element to permit detectors at different spatial locations to detect different wavelengths of the optical signal. An immersion lens may be employed to focus the optical signal to a spot size smaller than the photoactive area of the detector.

  • Patent number: 6923341
Abstract: A snap on, drain back fitment closure for a container, wherein the drain back pour spout fitment has a snap fit structure overlaying a container or bottle neck finish and which may be secured thereto with adhesives. The snap fit structure has an outer annular skirt with internal, radial inwardly facing beads engaging a radial outwardly facing surface of the bottle finish. Spaced from the outer annular skirt by a horizontal upper flange, the spout fitment includes an inner annular skirt with internal threads on the fitment to receive an externally threaded closure. The closure has a plug seal above the threads engaging the upper flange of the fitment. Further the closure has a radial outwardly facing latch engaging a radial inwardly facing interfering projection on the fitment forming a child safety feature for the fitment closure.

  • Patent number: 6628770
Abstract: A database of call information may be generated based on called numbers. When a called number is received from a user, the present invention determines whether the called party associated with the called number is a business. If the called number is associated with a business, information about the call is stored. If the called number is not associated with a business, the information is not stored, so as to protect privacy. The present invention may determine not only that the called number is associated with a business, but also what type of business. The call information, or information about a plurality of such calls, may be shared with a third party. The third party may or may not be a competitor of the business that was called. Armed with the call information, the third party may generate advertising directed at the calling party in response to being informed about the call.
