  • Publication number: 20150144215
Abstract: An air/water valve assembly for use in an endoscope or other medical equipment is provided. The valve assembly includes a spool and a one-piece sealing member that includes a number of sealing rings. The spool can be injection molded, and the sealing member can be overmolded onto the spool. A spring, retainer, and housing are also included to form the valve assembly. As such, an air/water valve assembly may be made that can be used in a single medical procedure and then discarded in a cost-effective manner. Corresponding methods of manufacturing an air/water valve assembly are also provided.

  • Patent number: 9033606
Abstract: A container adapted to contain and dispense a product and method for its use. The container comprises a hollow body, a filling opening, a dispensing opening, a valve and a resiliently deformable means for said valve. The valve may form a leak-tight engagement with the dispensing opening, and is openable by an external force acting on said valve whereby the leak-tight engagement is disengaged, allowing the product to be spread onto a fabric by the valve. The container may be used in a method for pretreating and subsequently laundering pretreated fabrics in an automatic washing machine.

  • Publication number: 20120263516
Abstract: A container adapted to contain and dispense a product. Said container comprises a hollow body, a filling opening, a dispensing opening, a valve and a flexible and resilient support means for said valve. Said flexible and resilient support means urges said valve against said dispensing opening, achieving a leak-tight engagement between said valve and said dispensing opening. Said flexible and resilient support means can be resiliently deformed by an external force acting on said valve whereby said leak-tight engagement between said valve and said dispensing opening is disengaged, allowing said contained product to be spread by said valve. Said flexible and resilient support means comprises a housing which fits the container and defines said dispensing opening at one extremity. Said housing comprising a resiliently deformable means urging said valve against said dispensing opening to achieve said leak-tight engagement.

  • Patent number: 7517329
Abstract: A multi-functional brace for a joint includes a releasable locking mechanism that allows the brace to be set for static stretch of the joint in either flexion or extension, and a range of motion assembly that allows for free movement of the joint through its natural axis over a controlled range of motion when the locking mechanism is released.

  • Publication number: 20070187316
Abstract: A fluid filter system includes a first segment and a second segment. The first segment includes a filter medium, a notch adapted to engage a detent, and a first actuation member. The second segment includes a detent engageable with the notch to secure the first segment to the second segment, and a second actuation member. The detent is moveable between a locked position and an unlocked position, and is normally biased into the locked position. The second actuation member is configured to cooperate with the first actuation member in order to move the detent between the locked and unlocked positions.

  • Patent number: 7250143
Abstract: The invention concerns a device for spraying water in a feedwater tank of a thermal power plant. Because the spraying device comprises a catalyst for the conversion of the gases contained in the water, the gases released from the water during the spray degasification can be removed easily, reliably and completely. Thus, the degree of efficiency of the thermal circuit of the power plant and the lifespan of the components arranged in the circuit are increased.

  • Publication number: 20060096934
Abstract: An oil filter system includes an oil filter module and an adapter. The oil filter module includes a detent and an actuator. The adapter includes a protuberance and is configured to be secured to the engine. The oil filter module connects to the adapter when the detent secures to the protuberance as the oil filter module is urged into a connection position with the adapter. The oil filter module disconnects from the adapter when the actuator is actuated, thereby disengaging the detent from the protuberance.

  • Patent number: 6599232
Abstract: A medical instrument includes a distal frame portion that accepts a needle cam. The needle cam has helical slots for accepting a collar, whereby the collar rides up and down the needle cam, to thereby cause the needle cam to rotate. Spin movement of the needle is caused by movement of the collar, to thereby achieve a proper seed implantation during a medical procedure by having the needle spin between seed implant locations.

  • Patent number: 6589157
Abstract: A medical instrument includes a drive train assembly that causes precise index movement of the medical instrument, based on an operator-selected indexing amount resulting from actuation of a pitch adjustment knob on the medical instrument. The drive train assembly also causes a stylet to move distally within the outer housing of the medical instrument, to thereby push a seed from an extended shuttle of a seed cartridge located within the medical instrument, to a distal end of a needle cannula that is coupled to a distal end of the medical instrument.
