Abstract: A hinge comprises a post that forms a pivot axis for a lid. A ring portion is rotatably mounted on the post portion and comprises a hole having a recess extending from the periphery of hole where the hole receives the post. A pin on the post is dimensioned to fit into the recess when the recess rotates into alignment with the pin to lock the lid in an open position. The hinge may be used on a trash container that comprises a receptacle and a lid pivotably mounted to the receptacle at the hinge.

Abstract: A bond strength testing apparatus comprising a main body, a test tool mount for holding a test tool, and an axial drive mechanism including a screw and nut assembly. The drive mechanism couples the test tool mount to the main body and allows for relative movement between the test tool mount and the main body in an axial direction. A backlash control element is coupled to the main body and the test tool mount, and, in operation, biases the test tool mount relative to the main body in an axial direction. The backlash control element is switchable between a first state in which the test tool mount is biased in a first axial direction by the backlash control element, and a second state in which either the test tool mount is biased in a second axial direction by backlash control element, or the backlash control element applies no biasing force to test tool mount. The apparatus can be automated to apply the appropriate backlash control for a particular, selected test type.

Abstract: A handle assembly has a handle, a handle spigot to which the handle is attached, a biasing member to bias the handle to a naturally closed position, an operating plate which is rotatable by the handle spigot, a mounting stock, and a housing, the spigot, the biasing member, operating plate and a majority of the mounting stock being positioned within the housing, the mounting stock being securable to the housing to hold all the components within the housing. In this manner, the handle assembly can be made as a “complete” unit with all the internal components being in position and with the handle being rotatably attached relative to the housing. Thus, no separate rose is required. Another advantage is that the unit can be assembled using a substantially concealed fixing arrangement to improve security and also to improve the aesthetic appeal of the assembly.

Abstract: A wrench comprising an elongated handle having a proximal end and first and second pivots at a distal end, and a spring-loaded latch pivotally connected to the second pivot, the latch being movable about the second pivot from an unlocked position to a locked position. The wrench includes a first clamping jaw having a first end pivotally connected to the handle at the first pivot and having a second end that includes a third pivot. A second clamping jaw is pivotally connected to the first clamping jaw via the third pivot to constitute with the first clamping jaw an articulated clamping jaw. The second clamping jaw has a free end for displacing the spring-loaded latch from the unlocked position to the locked position. The latch locks the free end of the second clamping jaw when the free end of the second clamping jaw has pushed past the latch.

Abstract: A drive gear assembly is disclosed. The assembly includes a drive shaft (11) and a drive gear (9) mounted on or integral with a drive shaft and rotatable therewith and being adapted to mesh with a driven gear (7). The assembly also includes a self-aligning assembly that supports the drive shaft for rotation about an axis of the drive shaft and so that the drive gear can self-align with respect to the driven gear.

Abstract: A compactor wheel is disclosed that includes a hub mountable to an axle of a compaction machine and a rim mounted around an outer circumference of the hub, with the rim having a wrapper and inner and outer circumferential edges. The compactor wheel also includes a modular axle guard positioned near the inner circumferential edge and extending outward from the wrapper, the modular axle guard having a plurality of guard modules arranged about an outer circumference of the rim. Each of the guard modules includes a pair of wedge segments affixed to the wrapper and positioned on the wrapper in a spaced apart relationship and a guard segment positioned on the wrapper and seated between the pair of wedge segments. The guard segment includes a portion that extends radially outward from the wrapper and beyond the pair of wedge segments.

Abstract: The present invention relates to nucleic acid molecules comprising a double-stranded region, and nucleic acid constructs encoding therfor, that are useful for the treatment and/or prevention of influenza. In particular, the present invention relates to nucleic acid constructs encoding a double stranded RNA molecule(s) that can be used to produce transgenic poultry, for example chickens, such that they are at least less susceptible to an avian influenza infection. Also provided are nucleic acid molecules comprising a double-stranded region that can be used as a therapeutic to treat and/or prevent, for example, avian influenza in poultry.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of devices which store data for a period of time. In one form, the invention relates to devices which store data in which the data store is subject to periodic and/or relatively short power outages. In one example, the invention relates to a radio frequency identification (“RFID”) transponder, and more particularly to a RFID transponder that is used in orientation independent applications. Other applications of the present invention are to devices used where supply power is intermittent. In a first aspect of embodiments described herein there is provided a.method of and/or device comprising a memory adapted to store data, a supply of power adapted to provide supply power to the memory, a path of leakage, the leakage path serving, over time, to diminish the integrity of data stored in the memory, and a leakage attenuator adapted to selectively attenuate the rate of leakage.

Abstract: A shelf is connected to risers that are interference fit together to achieve a clamping effect between the shelves and the risers. Each shelf may comprise a plastic shelf portion and at least one reinforcement portion secured to the plastic shelf portion to reinforce the plastic shelf portion along its length. In one embodiment a plurality of metal bars are used as the reinforcement portion having a tapered end. The reinforcement portions may be inserted into channels formed in the plastic shelve portions and secured to the shelf portions using an interference fit.

Abstract: Machine readable documents connect businesses with customers, suppliers and trading partners. The self defining electronic documents, such as XML based documents, can be easily understood amongst the partners. Definitions of these electronics business documents, called business interface definitions, are posted on the Internet, or otherwise communicated to members of the network. The business interface definitions tell potential trading partners the services the company offers and the documents to use when communicating with such services. Thus, a typical business interface definition allows a customer to place an order by submitting a purchase order or a supplier checks availability by downloading an inventory status report. Also, composition of the input and output documents, coupled with interpretation information in a common business library, programs the transaction in a way which closely parallels the way in which paper based businesses operate.

Abstract: A current-mode under voltage lockout (UVLO) circuit provides an output signal that indicates to connected devices whether a connected power supply is sufficient (i.e., of sufficient strength and stability) based on a comparison of a current that is proportional to the power supply and a reference current. The current-based UVLO circuit employs a reference current generator that is capable of providing a stable reference current and a voltage-to-current converter that provides a current proportional to the power supply voltage. A comparator compares the reference current to the current proportional to the power supply voltage and determines based on the magnitudes of the two currents whether the power supply voltage is sufficient or ‘good’ and generates an output signal indicating the status of the power supply voltage.

The method includes retrieving an image atlas including at least one atlas image, registering an atlas image to a patient image and synchronizing a view of the atlas image to a view of the patient image. In certain embodiments, the method further includes registering a plurality of atlas images to a plurality of patient images. In certain embodiments, the step of synchronizing further includes synchronizing at least one of orientation, zoom level, window level and pan of the atlas image to the patient image.
