  • Publication number: 20220027194
Abstract: Warp sharding techniques to switch execution between divergent shards on instructions that trigger a long stall, thereby interleaving execution between diverged threads within a warp instead of across warps. The technique may be applied to mitigate pipeline stalls in applications with low warp occupancy and high divergence. Warp data cache locality may also be improved by concentrating memory accesses within a warp rather than spreading them across warps.

  • Publication number: 20220018695
Abstract: A method of in situ ultrasonic flow meter validation includes receiving data characterizing first signal diagnostics and data characterizing a first speed of a first acoustic signal through a gas mixture along a first path in a pipe. The first speed of the first acoustic signal is detected by a first channel of an ultrasonic flow meter including a first pair of transducers that are separated by a first path length of the first path. The gas mixture is configured to flow along a flow path in the pipe. The method also includes determining a status associated with the ultrasonic flow meter based on the data characterizing the first signal diagnostics and/or a difference between the first speed of the first acoustic signal and an independently calculated speed of sound. • Publication number: 20220014766
Abstract: For a given image in a set of images, residual data is obtained and is useable by a decoder to reconstruct a first representation of the given image at a first level of quality using a second representation of the given image at the first level of quality. The second representation is based on a representation of the given image at a second, lower level of quality. Configuration data relating to processing of the residual data is generated and output for processing by the decoder. The configuration data comprises a temporal processing parameter that specifies an extent of temporal processing associated with reconstructing, for the given image, the first representation using the second representation and the residual data, wherein performing temporal processing comprises using data based on multiple images in the set of images.

  • Publication number: 20220007541
Abstract: A system and method enabling the use of convection cooled dual-inline memory modules (DIMM) in non-convection environments, specifically used for computing applications for harsh environments. This system and method describes a design which transfers heat from the various components on the memory module to thermally opportunistic areas of an enclosure in the absence of sufficient or in some cases any convective cooling conditions. The system and method describes a sandwiched metal heat plate assembly, being constructed from a thermally conductive material, which is attached to a heat pipe, designed to be highly thermally conductive, which is further attached to a thermally conductive cold plate saddle, which in turn is connected to a thermal sink. The heat generated in the DIMM is conducted to the heat plate by way of a thermal interface material, this energy transferred to the heat pipe, and then to a cold plate which dissipates the energy to the ambient environment.
