Publication number: 20180094961Abstract: A rail vehicle includes a truck having wheels for engaging a railroad track, a bolster supported by the truck, and a tank supported by the bolster for storing a lading. A measurement system measures the level of the lading within the tank and includes gauges and a controller. The gauges are disposed at selected points on the bolster for sensing at least one of lateral and longitudinal localized displacement experienced by the bolster during motion of the rail vehicle. The controller calculates the level of the lading within the tank and compensates for changes in the level of the lading during motion of the rail vehicle in response to signals generated by the gauges.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 29, 2017Publication date: April 5, 2018Inventors: Darrell Robert Krueger, Corey D. Patent number: 9434014Abstract: A broaching machine includes a support structure, a pulling head for releasably coupling to an end of a broach, and an acme screw coupled to the pulling head for linearly moving the pulling head along a portion of the support structure. A gearbox assembly is supported by the support structure and is coupled to the acme screw for translating an applied rotational forced into linear motion of the acme screw and the pulling head. A first adapter plate is supported by the support structure for mating with a compatible second adapter plate coupled to a railroad rail. The first adapter plate includes an aperture allowing a broach coupled to the pulling head to linearly travel through a pilot hole formed through the railroad rail in response to the applied rotational force and responsive linear motion of the acme screw and the pulling head.Type: GrantFiled: July 21, 2014Date of Patent: September 6, 2016Assignee: BNSF Railway CompanyInventor: Darrell Robert Krueger

Patent number: 9227499Abstract: The subject invention provides for a weatherstrip assembly for sealing between a frame and a closure member of a vehicle. The assembly includes a trim portion having a body and a flange extending from the body. The flange is capable of moving between an initial position and a final position. A seal extends from the body for abutting and sealing the closure member. An adhesive is disposed on the body for coupling the trim portion to the frame. The adhesive is disposed opposite the seal such that the seal extends away from the adhesive. A retaining member is selectively mounted to the flange and spaced from the adhesive for selectively engaging the frame to selectively hold the flange in the initial position relative to the frame. The retaining member is removed from the flange while concurrently moving the flange toward the final position.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 2012Date of Patent: January 5, 2016Assignee: HENNIGES AUTOMOTIVE SEALING SYSTEMS NORTH AMERICA INC.Inventors: Robert Krueger, Howard Boyer, John R.
