  • Publication number: 20220380096
Abstract: A container that stores and dispenses a fluid agent container comprises a flexible body portion, a duckbill valve, and a cap. The flexible body portion defines an internal cavity; the internal cavity is configured to store the fluid agent therein; and an opening is defined in the body portion. The duckbill valve is coupled to the opening of the body portion, with the duckbill valve being configurable between an open configuration and a closed configuration such that the duckbill valve prevents the flow of the fluid agent out of the internal cavity when the duckbill valve is in the closed configuration and permits the flow of the fluid agent out of the internal cavity when the duckbill valve is in the open configuration. The duckbill valve is prevented from being motivated into the open configuration when the cap is coupled to the body portion.

  • Patent number: 9431864
Abstract: An apparatus (structure) is provided to support a superconductor winding (61) of an electromotive machine. An assembly (110), such as a cradle, may define a recess to receive the superconductor winding. An elongated loop (74) provides radial support to the winding. Loop 74 may be made of a material resistant to heat flow, such as a fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) material. Assembly (110) may be arranged to support elongated loop (74) at a distal end (78) of the loop. A base assembly (130) may be arranged to anchor the elongated loop at a proximate end (76) of the loop. A support structure 120 may be arranged to provide tangential load support to the assembly.

  • Patent number: 9296525
Abstract: In various embodiments, the invention provides enhanced structures, devices, and techniques that allow fluids and liquid products, such as cosmetics, to dispense in a more even, smoother, and more predictable manner from fluid containers. In one embodiment, a plug is positioned within at least a portion of an interior of a nozzle of a fluid container. The plug may include a base portion having at least one fluid flow opening formed therein and a bellows portion. In operation, the bellows portion may expand to an elongated state upon application of a threshold fluid pressure to create a pathway for communicating fluid, and may contract to a compressed state which creates a fluid communication seal between a fluid repository and dispensing orifice of the fluid container.

  • Patent number: 9096352
Abstract: In various embodiments, the invention provides enhanced structures, devices, and techniques that allow fluids and liquid products, such as cosmetics, to dispense in a more even, smoother, and more predictable manner from fluid containers. In one embodiment, a plug is inserted into the nozzle of a squeeze tube. The plug has embossments on its surface that form longitudinal openings for the tube's fluid contents to dispense in a controlled fashion. In one embodiment, a plug is positioned within at least a portion of the interior of the nozzle of a fluid container. The plug includes a tip and a base having at least one longitudinal opening structured to create a pathway for communicating fluid from the fluid repository to the dispensing orifice on at least a portion of an outside surface of the plug upon application of a threshold fluid pressure.

  • Patent number: 8704818
Abstract: A method may include generating display driver signals that vary between only two levels and applying the display driver signals to opposing electrodes of a display segment within a display device. The method varies a correlation between the display driver signals to select or de-select the display segment based on an average voltage magnitude across the display segment over a time period. The display segment is activated when the average voltage magnitude exceeds a threshold value.

  • Patent number: 8664809
Abstract: An apparatus (structure) is provided to support a superconductor winding (61) of an electromotive machine. An elongated loop (74) provides radial support to the winding. A base assembly (84) may include a base module (89) arranged to anchor the loop at a proximate end (76) of the elongated loop by way of a tubular coupling (86). The tubular coupling may further provide a mechanical connection relative to an axially-adjacent base module. A bracket assembly (100) may define an interior recess to receive a portion of the winding and to support the elongated loop at a distal end (78) of the elongated loop, such as by way of a support (80). A lateral-extending loop (106) may have a first end connected to the bracket assembly (100) and a second end connected to the base module (89) to transfer to the rotor core lateral loads, which may be experienced by the winding.
