  • Publication number: 20110125479
Abstract: A system and method is described for connecting a logic circuit simulation to a hardware peripheral that includes a computer running software for communicating data to and from the hardware peripheral. The software transmits the data received from the hardware peripheral to the device being simulated by the logic circuit simulation. The computer also transmits the data received from the device being simulated by the electronic circuit simulation to the hardware peripheral. This allows the user to test the device being simulated using real hardware for input and output instead of simulated hardware.

  • Patent number: 7945879
Abstract: A method and an apparatus take software source code to synthesize a hardware platform for running the software. The method determines which processor is suitable for running the code and meeting the performance parameters determined by the user. The method also determines which hardware devices are accessed by software. If the hardware target is a semiconductor chip, the invention selects the appropriate IP and creates an HDL description of the chip. If the hardware target is a printed circuit board, the invention creates a schematic or netlist that includes the appropriate microprocessor, the various semiconductor chips, and the necessary interconnections.

  • Publication number: 20110004151
Abstract: The apparatus is arranged to supply a flow of substantially pure oxygen to a person, and comprises a source of substantially pure oxygen gas, means for release of the substantially pure oxygen gas from the source into an ambient atmosphere; and means for cooling the substantially pure oxygen gas released from the source to a temperature below that of the ambient atmosphere. The substantially pure oxygen gas when cooled by the cooling means can be allowed to sink under ambient pressure by convection into a zone including the ambient atmosphere, the zone being beneath, and in convective communication with, the cooled substantially pure oxygen gas, whereby the cooled and sunken substantially pure oxygen gas can come into contact with the skin of a person in that zone. At least one parameter (such as temperature, oxygen concentration, sound or vibration) is monitored in the zone and operation of the release means is only permitted when the parameter is in a predetermined range.

  • Patent number: 7823127
Abstract: Plagiarism of software source code is a serious problem in two distinct areas of endeavor—cheating by students at schools and intellectual property theft at corporations. A number of algorithms have been implemented to check source code files for plagiarism, each with their strengths and weaknesses. This invention detects plagiarism by comparing statements within source code of a first program to comments within source code of a second program.

  • Publication number: 20100268528
Abstract: A contract characteristic identification application includes a user interface, a plurality of contract characteristic definitions, a natural language processing module and a characteristic identification function. At least one contract characteristic is defined and evaluated and the text of at least one contract is entering into the application. A document evaluation function included in the natural language processing module operates to evaluate the contents of the text of the contract against the defined contract characteristic and returns a listing of contract text that is closest to the defined contract characteristic of interest.

  • Publication number: 20100131569
Abstract: A Methodology for identifying secondary concepts that are included in one or more documents in a collection of documents is disclosed. Training information is manually created from a subset of a collection of documents and used by a primary concept identification function to process textual information contained in the documents included in the collection of documents to identify primary concepts included in the collection of documents. Each of the primary concepts included in the collection of documents is used as input to a secondary concept identification function which results in the identification of secondary concepts included in each of the primary concepts. A query is generated and used as input to both the primary and secondary concept identification functions and the result of both the operation of both of these functions on the query is compared to the identified secondary concepts.

  • Publication number: 20100114924
Abstract: A method and system for detecting plagiarism of software source code is disclosed. In one embodiment, a database exists of program elements that have previously been found to be matching within the source code for two different programs. This embodiment searches the Internet for occurrences of these matching program elements to determine how many times they appear and thus whether they are commonly used or not. The elements and their associated number of hits are placed in a spreadsheet for further observation and manipulation. One of skill in the art will see that this invention also applies to other kinds of text documents.

  • Publication number: 20100087898
Abstract: The apparatus comprises a removable coating formulation for a surface of a vertebrate animal body (such as an aqueous coating formulation); with at least two light-emitting diodes which can be secured to the surface by the formulation such that illumination therefrom can be directed towards tissue in the animal body. The light-emitting diodes are such that, when connected to an electrical power supply, they have an illumination power output substantially in the range causing photochemical effects in the animal tissue, and they are provided with a connection to an electrical power supply.
