A server computing device identifies a carbon footprint value for at least one real-world object or event. The server computing device determines an amount of greenhouse gas that corresponds to the carbon footprint value. The server computing device generates instructions for operation of a gas visualization device coupled to the server computing device based upon the amount of greenhouse gas. The server computing device transmits the instructions to the gas visualization device. The gas visualization device executes the instructions to produce an amount of gas (i.e., fog or vapor) based upon the received instructions.

    Abstract: An apparatus for manufacturing an elastic composite structure for an absorbent sanitary product includes an anvil with weld pattern comprising at least one anchoring region and at least one deactivating region. The anchoring region includes anchoring welds that form anchoring bonds that fuse facing web layers and anchor elastic thread(s) in position relative to the facing web layers. The deactivating region includes a break bar constructed to sever the thread(s). A method of manufacturing the elastic composite structure includes positioning a tensioned elastic thread between web layers, fusing the web layers to form an anchored zone that includes anchoring bonds that fuse the web layers and anchor the tensioned elastic thread therebetween, and cutting the thread to form a deactivated zone between adjacent portions of the anchored zone that is free of tensioned threads. The method further includes fusing the web layers within the deactivated zone.

    Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems for removing submicron particles from a gas stream, in particular from urea prilling off-gas, wherein a Venturi ejector is used. A method comprises contacting a gas stream containing submicron particles in a Venturi ejector with an injected high velocity scrubbing liquid to provide a pumping action, wherein the scrubbing liquid has an initial velocity of at least 2 m/s and wherein the ratio of scrubbing liquid and gas flow is between 0.0005 and 0.0015 (m3/h)/(m3/h). The disclosure also pertains to a prilling tower having a gas stream treatment system comprising a Venturi ejector at the top of the prilling tower, and to a method of modifying an existing prilling tower.

    Abstract: Sight adjustable and rotating smart phone mounts for firearms which mount the smart phone and lens on the rail of the firearm behind the sights. The phone mounts rotate, and are vertically and laterally adjustable, and include mirror assemblies. The smart phone and mirror assemblies are secured in precise positions to be in alignment with one another, and the mirror assemblies remain in axial viewing alignment with the firearm sights, and reflect the view to the smart phone camera lens, as the mount is rotated through 180┬░ from side-to-side of the firearm. A shooter views an enlarged target area on the smart phone screen, and most importantly, can view and record the target area from the either side of the firearm standing perpendicular to the firearm rail and barrel. In such position, the shooters can fire around obstacles and building without becoming a target themselves and out of harms way.

    Abstract: Apparatus and methods for electroplating metal onto substrates are disclosed. The electroplating apparatus comprise an electroplating cell and at least one oxidization device. The electroplating cell comprises a cathode chamber and an anode chamber separated by a porous barrier that allows metal cations to pass through but prevents organic particles from crossing. The oxidation device (ODD) is configured to oxidize cations of the metal to be electroplated onto the substrate, which cations are present in the anolyte during electroplating. In some embodiments, the ODD is implemented as a carbon anode that removes Cu(I) from the anolyte electrochemically. In other embodiments, the ODD is implemented as an oxygenation device (OGD) or an impressed current cathodic protection anode (ICCP anode), both of which increase oxygen concentration in anolyte solutions. Methods for efficient electroplating are also disclosed.
