  • Publication number: 20090300052
Abstract: A method for modifying data coverage in a modeling system is disclosed. The method may include obtaining data records relating to a plurality of input variables and one or more output parameters and selecting a plurality of input parameters from the plurality of input variables. The method may further include evaluating a coverage of the data records in a modeling space and modifying the coverage of the data records, if a data coverage condition is detected. The method may also include generating a computational model indicative of interrelationships between the plurality of input parameters and the one or more output parameters based on the data records.

  • Publication number: 20090283152
Abstract: Diaphragm assemblies for use with fluid control devices are described. An example diaphragm assembly includes a body defining a plurality of chambers to be fluidly coupled to an outlet pressure of a fluid control device. Each of the chambers is spaced along a stem at least partially disposed in the chambers, and the stem is to move to control a flow of fluid through the fluid control device. Additionally, the example diaphragm assembly includes a first plurality of diaphragms, each of which is disposed in a corresponding one of the chambers, and each of which is coupled to the stem to move the stem in response to the outlet pressure of the fluid control device.

  • Publication number: 20090222248
Abstract: A computer system for determining a combined risk is disclosed. The computer system has a memory, at least one input device, and a central processing unit in communication with the memory and the at least one input device. The central processing unit obtains diagnostic data and identifies a plurality of models for analyzing the diagnostic data. The central processing unit also associates each model with one of a plurality of time periods and calculates, for each time period using the associated model, a predicted risk. Further, the central processing unit determines the combined risk based on the predicted risk for each time period.

  • Publication number: 20090112533
Abstract: A method for simplifying a mathematical model is disclosed. The method obtains a data set and identifies a plurality of variables within the data set. The method also performs a clustering analysis by dividing the data set into groups, where each group has a cluster center. The method further replaces the plurality of variables with a plurality of cluster distances. The method also uses the plurality of cluster distances as a plurality of independent variables in a model creation process.

  • Publication number: 20080185239
Abstract: A liquid cooled brake is provided having an improved housing that provides strong yet lightweight structural support. The brake includes end plates disposed about a driven shaft and axially spaced from one another. A plurality of axially extending pins connect the end plates. A friction plate is coupled to the driven shaft for rotation therewith and is axially movable relative to the driven shaft. Another friction plate defines a fluid jacket and is coupled to the pins. The friction plate is fixed against rotation, but axially movable, relative to the pins. A pressure plate is configured for selective movement towards the friction plates. Support columns are disposed radially outwardly of each pin and fixed to the end plates The support columns prevent undue strain on the pins. Ventilated guards may also be located between each pair, of columns to limit access to internal working components of the brake.

  • Patent number: 7343140
Abstract: A tuner is provided for selecting, independently of each other, a plurality of radio frequency channels for simultaneous reception. The tuner comprises a plurality of up converters whose outputs are combined in a combiner. Each up converter operates independently of the other up converters to select a channel from a multi channel input signal and to convert the selected channel to a first high intermediate frequency. The intermediate frequencies of the up converters are different from each other. The common signal from the combiner is supplied to a down converter which converts the signals at different high intermediate frequencies to signals at different lower intermediate frequencies. Thus, the signals from the combiner and from the down converter carry all of the selected channels at different intermediate frequencies. The signal from the down converter is subsequently processed to separate the selected channels and demodulate them.

  • Publication number: 20070236362
Abstract: The system includes a number of first meters, which are typically battery powered transmit only devices. The system includes a number of two-way meters, which are operable to both transmit and receive data. The first meters transmit their data to the collector either directly or indirectly via the two-way meters, which serve as intermediaries. Multiple records from each first meter may be stored at each of the two-way meters, thereby ensuring that records from a one-way meter will not be blocked when an attempt is made to forward them to the collector. Furthermore, multiple records from each first meter may be stored at the collector, thereby enabling the transmission and storage of meter records in a number of different formats. Additionally, records from each first meter are marked to reflect a sequence in which they are generated, thereby ensuring that the collector will store the most recent data records available.

  • Publication number: 20070234293
Abstract: A generic testing framework to automatically allocate, install and verify a given version of a system under test, to exercise the system against a series of tests in a “hands-off” objective manner, and then to export information about the tests to one or more developer repositories (such as a query-able database, an email list, a developer web server, a source code version control system, a defect tracking system, or the like). The framework does not “care” or concern itself with the particular implementation language of the test as long as the test can issue directives via a command line or configuration file. During the automated testing of a given test suite having multiple tests, and after a particular test is run, the framework preferably generates an “image” of the system under test and makes that information available to developers, even while additional tests in the suite are being carried out.

  • Publication number: 20070205915
Abstract: A load control system that communicates with existing automated meter reading communications systems to interrupt and shed loads at a customer location. The system includes a master controller that listens to communications between a utility meter and the reading system. The controller receives tier and/or pricing information and will instruct a load control unit to interrupt certain loads based on the information. In addition, the system may be employed as a load shedding system where a command may be forwarded to the master controller to disconnect loads based on action levels. The command may be sent via a TCP/IP communications system to a node in the reading system and the forwarded via a radio network to the master controller to reduce latency. Predictive shedding may be performed based on forecast loads.

  • Publication number: 20070200729
Abstract: A display system that communicates with existing automated meter reading communications systems to provide information to a user. The display includes a radio that listens to communications between a utility meter and the reading system. When the display recognizes a particular utility meter identifier, it captures meter read information and stores it in memory. The information may then be presented to the user. Alternatively, a broadcast message may be communicated, that when received by the display, causes the display to extract information from the receiver. A manual override button may be provided to allow a user to manually request information from the meter. The display will extract information from the meter upon receipt of the manual request.

  • Publication number: 20070181320
Abstract: The instant invention, the fence post driver and remover, is comprised of a sliding ram and a stationary ram. The stationary ram is a hollow cylinder. To begin operation of the instant invention the stationary ram is placed over the end of the fence post. That is, for operation of the instant invention the fence post slides into the hollow formed by the stationary ram so that the instant invention rests on top of the top end of the fence post. The instant invention may be used to both drive fence posts and remove fence posts. In addition, the instant invention may be used in conjunction with any elongated objects to be driven into or removed from the ground.

  • Publication number: 20070162894
Abstract: An automated system that randomly generates test cases for use in hardware or software quality assurance testing, wherein a given test case comprises a sequence (or “chain”) of discrete, atomic steps (or “building blocks”). A particular test case (i.e., a given sequence) has a variable number of building blocks. The system takes a set of test actions (or even test cases) and links them together in a relevant and useful manner to create a much larger library of test cases or “chains.” The chains comprise a large number of random sequence tests that facilitate “chaos-like” or exploratory testing of the overall system under test. Upon execution in the system under test, the test case is considered successful (i.e., a pass) if each building block in the chain executes successfully; if any building block fails, the test case, in its entirety, is considered a failure. The system adapts and dynamically generates new test cases as underlying data changes (e.g.
