  • Publication number: 20240126308
Abstract: A sanitaryware system may include sensors to determine a status or condition of one or more sanitaryware fixtures in the sanitaryware system and perform a particular function, such as, for example performing a flush, closing the flush valve and/or angle stop, sending an alert, initiating a service ticket. The sanitaryware system may automatically perform the function. The sanitaryware system may communicate the status or condition to an internet connected device and/or user, the device may perform the function or may instruct the sanitaryware to perform the function. The sensed information, sanitaryware system status or condition, and/or initiated response may be logged and monitored to improve the overall efficiency and operation of the sanitaryware system and the sanitaryware fixtures within the system.

  • Patent number: 11954851
Abstract: A diagnostic system performs disease diagnostic tests using at least an optical property modifying device and a mobile device. A user provides a biological sample from a patient to the optical property modifying device that reacts with a reagent in one or more reaction chambers of the device. The user captures one or more images of the one or more reaction chambers using an optical sensor of the mobile device. The diagnostic system can determine a quality level of the images based on factors such as skew, scale, focusing, shadowing, or white-balancing. Based on an analysis of the captured image, the diagnostic system can determine a test result of a disease diagnostic test for the patient. The diagnostic system may communicate the test result, as well as instructions for the disease diagnostic test, to the user via the mobile device.

  • Publication number: 20230326440
Abstract: The invention relates to a pedalboard system for musical instruments. The pedalboard consists of a main board comprising a main board base and a cover, and a plurality of pedal bases. The main board base contains a power supply which distributes power throughout a circuit comprising of female connection parts that extend into a plurality of openings in the mainboard cover. The openings act as pedal base attachment regions where, at each, a female connection part is accessible. The number of pedal attachment regions corresponds to the maximum number of pedals that can attach to the pedalboard. Each pedal base has a male connection part extending from the underside of the pedal base that allows it to attach to the female connection part on the mainboard base through the pedal attachment region on the main board cover. Each pedal base also comprises a pair of connection cables on the top side extending from the wire housing that enables the pedal base to connect to inputs and outputs of a musical pedal.

  • Patent number: 11683332
Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems disclosed herein measure endpoint user security event susceptibility (e.g., a malware infection) and provide information for endpoint/user posture evaluation. A relatively small software application may be installed using, for example, a systems management push system where the software runs on each endpoint system and reports back to a central repository or base system. The software runs on machines that it is pushed to and generates a score for that endpoint. That score is a quantification of endpoint user security risk, i.e., the likelihood that a particular endpoint is likely to be the source of a security event at some point in the future. This information may be used to generate a Relative Score for each endpoint so that the endpoints can be ranked from most secure to least secure and an Absolute Score so that a given distributed system can be compared to other distributed systems.

  • Publication number: 20220283003
Abstract: A multiphase vortex flowmeter system determines the gas-to-liquid ratio (GLR) and flow rates from a well producing multiphase gas, oil and water by detecting the frequency and amplitude of vortices shed in a vortex flowmeter. In particular, the phase of the flow can be identified by detecting the change in the frequency of the vortices with respect to time, and the amplitude of the vortices. Based on the phase, the flow rates of liquid and gas can be calculated. As a feedback technique, these calculated values can be “tuned” by comparison with actual GLR and flow rates recorded for the well by a test separator.

  • Patent number: 10685759
Abstract: A method of analyzing a specimen using X-rays, comprising the steps of: Irradiating the specimen with input X-rays; Using a detector to detect a flux of output X-rays emanating from the specimen in response to said irradiation, which method further comprises the following steps: Using the detector to intercept at least a portion of said flux so as to produce a set {Ij} of pixeled images Ij of at least part of the specimen, whereby the cardinality of the set {Ij} is M>1. For each pixel pi in each image Ij, determining the accumulated signal strength Sij, thus producing an associated set of signal strengths {Sij}. Using the set {Sij} to calculate the following values: A mean signal strength S per pixel position i; A variance ?2S in S per pixel position i. Using these values S and ?2S to produce a map of mean X-ray photon energy E per pixel.

  • Patent number: 10354418
Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a method of determining a material characteristic of material in a sample by iterative tomographic reconstruction. The method conducts one or more X-ray tomography scans of a sample, and then determines one or more estimated material characteristics, such as atomic number and density, for multiple volume elements in the sample using a tomographic reconstruction algorithm. These estimated material characteristics are then modified by reference to stored known material characteristic data. Preferably, determining the composition of the sample volume during reconstruction includes segmenting the sample into regions of common composition, the segmenting being performed during iterative reconstruction instead of being based on the voxel characteristics determined upon the completion of iterative reconstruction.

  • Patent number: 9613587
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for enhancing display viewability in high ambient conditions without excessive increase in power consumption. In one aspect, a controller associated with the display device can be configured to obtain an indication of ambient light conditions from an ambient light sensor or from a host device hosting the display device. Upon receiving an image frame, the controller can derive a set of color subfields and determine a bit-depth value for each color subfield based on the obtained indication of current ambient light conditions and mapping data which maps ranges of ambient light to respective bit-depth values on a color subfield by color subfield basis. The controller can then generate a number of subframes for each color subfield based on the respective determined bit-depth value and cause the generated subframes to be displayed.

  • Publication number: 20160282541
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for providing stacks of optical films that may be used to provide increased on-axis display brightness. In one aspect, an apparatus or system may be provided that includes a light source, a first optical film having triangular cross-section, prismatic light-turning structures, and a second optical film having trapezoidal cross-section, prismatic light-turning structures. The first optical film may be interposed between the light source and the second optical film. In further aspects, a third optical film, similar to the first optical film, may be interposed between the light source and the first optical film. In yet further aspects, one or more additional optical films, similar to the second optical film, may be positioned in the stack such that the second optical film is between the first optical film and the additional optical film(s).

  • Publication number: 20160258583
Abstract: This disclosure provides devices, apparatuses and methods of providing an optical filter with quantum dot films for converting a first wavelength of light to a second wavelength of light. The optical filter includes a plurality of high refractive index layers and a plurality of low refractive index layers alternatingly disposed between the high refractive index layers. Quantum dots are dispersed in either the high refractive index layers or the low refractive index layers. In some implementations, the quantum dots are capable of absorbing blue light and emitting green light. Thus, the optical filter can be part of a red-green-blue lighting device that includes a first blue LED optically coupled with the optical filter to produce green light, a red LED and a second blue LED.
