  • Publication number: 20160306429
Abstract: A system and method for providing personalization of a virtual space based on an individualized seed value. The system may provide personalization within one or more instances of a virtual space based on an individualized seed value derived from one or more biometric samples (e.g., a fingerprint) and/other individual identifiers. One or more values may be obtained and used as the individual seed value to generate pseudorandom numbers. Personalizations affecting characteristics of one or more aspects of the virtual space may be determined based on the pseudorandom numbers generated. Presentation of the personalizations determined may be effectuated in on or more instances of the virtual space.

  • Publication number: 20160206959
Abstract: A system and method for customizing a game entity that is played in a video game are disclosed. The video game may take place in a virtual space. Users may access the virtual space via computing platforms. Users may participate in the video game by controlling game entities in the virtual space. Individual ones of the game entities may be associated with a physical object that stores information related to the associated game entities. The stored information may be implemented by virtue of a computing platform receiving the stored information. The stored information may include information related to a customization of the associated game entity that is purchased by a user at a retail location. At least some of the stored information may be written to the physical object using a read/write platform that is included at a point of purchase computing platform in the retail location.

  • Patent number: 9363076
Abstract: A device, method, and an action figure toy for implementing encrypted content for implementation in a game are disclosed. The encrypted content may relate to physical objects, such as action figure toys corresponding movie characters and/or any other physical objects. Such content may be encrypted separately and distinctively during a development stage of the game. Decryption information for decrypting the encrypted content may be stored on and distributed with corresponding physical objects. A set of encrypted content associated with such a physical object may be decrypted upon presence of the physical object detected by a reader configured to read information stored on the physical object and responsive to receiving the decryption key stored on the physical object. The decrypted content may be implemented in the game responsive to the presence of the physical object on the reader.

  • Publication number: 20150294508
Abstract: Exemplary implementations may facilitate effectuating modifications within an instance of a virtual space presented via multiple disparate client computing platforms responsive to detection of a token associated with a single client computing platform. In some implementations, tokens may be detected based on signals received from token readers associated with individual ones of the multiple client computing platforms. A given token may be a standalone physical object. The given token may be detectable based on a signal conveying information associated with the given token. The information associated with the given token conveyed by the signal may be devoid of virtual space content.

  • Patent number: 9113614
Abstract: A selective bird feeding apparatus includes a housing having an access opening and door mounted positionable in a closed condition or in an open condition relative to the access opening. A drive mechanism is actuated to move the door to the closed condition or to the open condition. An actuator coupled to the drive mechanism includes a sensor which radiates energy to a position adjacent to the opening. The sensor receives reflected radiation reflected off of an object adjacent to the opening. A control circuit assigns an input value to the reflected radiation which is compared with a stored standard value. The actuator actuates the drive mechanism to move the door to the closed condition when the input value is outside a threshold limit of the standard value and actuates the drive mechanism to move the door to the open condition when the input value is within the threshold limit.
