  • Patent number: 10517714
Abstract: A system for an anatomical joint includes a first fastener, a second fastener, a prosthetic ligament member, and a biasing member associated with at least one of the first and second fasteners. The first fastener is operable to be connected to a first bone portion. The second fastener is operable to be connected to a second bone portion. The prosthetic ligament member is flexible and is directly coupled to both the first and second fasteners to support the first bone portion and the second bone portion for relative movement. A portion of the prosthetic ligament member extends from the first fastener to the second fastener and has an adjustable length. The biasing member is operable to bias the prosthetic ligament member to thereby maintain tension in the prosthetic ligament member.

  • Patent number: 10523059
Abstract: A wireless power receiver is described that receives power wirelessly from a transmitter coil that generates an oscillating magnetic field. The wireless power receiver includes a receiving coil circuit having a diode string formed by an outer wire, an inner wire, and diodes. Each of the diodes include a first end coupled to the outer wire and a second end coupled to the inner wire such that each of the diodes are connected in parallel with one another. A rectifier circuit is coupled to ends of the diode string. The rectifier circuit includes capacitors and rectifying diodes, where at least one of the capacitors is configured to bring the diode string into resonance with the oscillating magnetic field. The rectifying diodes rectify the induced oscillating voltage to produce a DC voltage difference between the outer wire and the inner wire, thereby powering the diodes.

  • Patent number: 10521379
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein reduce contention on shared buses through which multiple sensors send sensor readings to a computing destination by allowing different query rates for each sensor and dynamically adjusting the query rate for each sensor based on the readings that sensor reports. A first query is sent to a sensor via a bus to request a current sensor reading from the sensor. In response to the first query, the sensor sends the current sensor reading via a bus. A function of the current sensor reading, a predefined time range, and a predefined reading-value range is evaluated to determine a time interval between the first query and a second query to be sent to the sensor. When the amount of time elapsed since the first query was sent matches the time interval, the second query is sent to the sensor via the bus to request an updated sensor reading.

  • Patent number: 10517820
Abstract: Described are methods of making a gastric residence structure including an active substance. The methods may include forming one or more arms comprising a loadable polymeric component, wherein the loadable polymeric component includes one or more polymeric materials and at least one active substance. The methods may also include connecting the one or more arms to an elastic polymeric component using a separate linker component. The gastric residence structures may be configured to be folded and physically constrained during administration and may be configured to assume an open retention shape upon removal of a constraint. The change between the folded shape and the open retention shape may be mediated by the elastic polymeric component that undergoes elastic deformation when the residence structure is in the folded shape and recoils when the gastric residence structure assumes the open retention shape.

  • Patent number: 10518578
Abstract: A dual-stage caster is disclosed. The caster includes a horn assembly and an arm assembly pivotally coupled to the horn assembly. The caster further includes a wheel rotatably mounted to the arm assembly and a mounting plate mounted to the horn assembly and configured be mounted to a transport vehicle. When the wheel is moved along a support surface, the arm assembly is in a neutral position and the wheel is in the up position. When the wheel moves into a depression in the support surface, the wheel stage spring moves the wheel from the up position to the down position and the arm assembly remains in the neutral position. When the wheel moves over a raised portion in the support surface, the arm assembly pivots relative to the horn assembly so as to compress the main stage spring. The caster may be a swivel caster or a rigid caster.
